Milo

Milo

A little bit more about Milo courtesy of his owner.

Age: 5 years

Likes: playing tug, situating himself on anything soft and cloud-like, meat, the dog park, stretching and climbing on his parents like we’re his personal jungle gym

Dislikes: when his brother steals his toys, when his sleeping is interrupted before 10am, bike riders, food that isn’t meat-based, having his nose roll cleaned

Favorite Treat or Toy: various jerky-type treats and rawhide

More about Milo:

Milo has a 4 year old brother (they share the same mom)...gets complimented on his face/markings at least once per day…a perfect pug specimen, really!

What a great picture!  Worthy of a t-shirt. Milo you rock.  Very cute comment Kat.  Milo is stunning!

One of my rescue pugs is on the other (they are 4 years old and inseparable pals).  Anything I can do to stop it?

Huckle…When you say on the other, do you mean ON the other???  As in trying to “love” the other?  C.J. does this to Toeby and I haven’t found a way to stop it yet.  I’m thinking of a water squirt bottle type thing…Have you tried that?

That’s my little boy!  I get to wake up to that sweet face everyday.  He has totally changed our lives over the last 5 years!!  Pugs Rule!

Hi Huckle,
I have two male pugs and a female.  They’ve all been fixed, yet one male continually likes to lick the other male’s head, ears, neck, shoulders, whatever!  I can’t understand the attraction - the male being licked just sits there and seems to enjoy it.  The only problem is that his coat gets all sticky from being licked - it’s like he has gel in it, - it gets all spiked up!  Cute! I think it must be a dominance thing.  The pug doing the licking is in a cart, so maybe he’d be “on” the other pug if he were able to!

Milo, What a beautiful Black Pug Face you have.  You look like lovely soft Velvet, National Velvet.  Your markings are striking, and your Beautiful brown eyes are just gorgeous.  I love you and Cooper and I are sending Pug Hugs from NY.  Elizabeth & Mini Cooper~

I see I forgot the important word in my question (duh).  I left out “nursing”  It should have read One of my rescue pugs is nursing on the other (they are 4 years old and inseparable pals).  Anything I can do to stop it?

Milo love the beautiful face. I hate to have my face washed…but Grannie Pug does is anyway!!! She says it keeps it clean and I will not get smellie sores.

PS: Huckly maybe they were taken from their Moms early. How bout a doggie passevier (sic) like human babies have?

Hellen, now that’s an idea - the pacifier, they were a breeding pair.  I wonder that since they were in a rescue together, perhaps, the little boy just needed something familiar and this is the way for him to cope and that was handy, already the nipples were inviting (because of the last litter she had) and she wasn’t protesting and voila.  Now I understand why her nipples are still “out there” because she was inviting diners.  To me, in that expanse of time I would think they would not been so noticeable.  I wonder, do I stop it, or just accept it?  And will stopping have a negative effect on them?

Milo - you a one mia amore pug-a=letta!! Too perfect for words and definitely worthy of a ‘World Class’  certificate.

As to licking and cleaning each other….. a daily occurrence especially after their evening dinner of Pug Prawns when all 6 clean each others’ faces. They also clean each other ears and faces during the day. The two boys - Boet (still has his knackers) and Buller (no knackers) have a ‘territorial’ at least 6 times a day .... strut around each other, stiff legged and growling, we yell at them either to ‘take a chill pill’ or to stop ‘being a pair of wusses’ and occasionally when the growling gets fierce tell them to ‘change gear’....then a minute later they are licking and cleaning each other!! Drives me dilly sometimes as they do love each other.
Also order of sitting on laps, TinaTurner ‘owns’ both laps and if anyone else gets there first she just sits on top of them until they move! Can get awfully uncomfortable at times when all 6 decide that my lap is ‘the lap of the day’ I get rather squished!!
But as we have all aid before PUGS RULE!!!!

Oh, Grannygoogs!  I am cracking up!  “Knackers”???  That’s a new one and I love it!  Your stories are always so entertaining! “Territorial” is a perfect way to describe and label that strut-growl-bark thing!  Leave it to Grannygoogs to come up with a perfect description!  You are too funny!
