What a great shot!  How is it that puggies always look worried even though they’re the most light-hearted lovable breed ever!  Just one more thing to add to their charm.  Love this little girl in her adorable sweater. xxoo

Once upon a time there lived a fawn puglette by the name of Paisley.  As she was a stunning puggy, her mother truly enjoyed dressing her up.  Paisley had beautiful outfits of every color imaginable in her little closet.  In fact, Paisley appreciated this so much and looked forward to each new outfit since she knew that she was the prettiest pug in town.  One special day her mother gave her a new pink sweater with a heart on it.  Paisley LOVED it!  She thanked her mother with many slurpy pug kisses because of all the outfits she owned….THIS was her favorite!  Now Paisley is reluctant to wear anything but her beautiful pink sweater!  Each time she wears it…she heads straight for the mirror so she can see just how beautiful she appears!

Great color on darling Paisley.  You have got to be one of the sweetest pug babies ever.

OK Robin, do you write children’s books?  Your stories are so nifty and fit the pugs so well.  I can just picture that last line of a happy-go-lucky puglette prancing up to the mirror. Cool!

I am Paisley’s mommy.  She’s quite a little spitfire - she’s my alpha female.  She’s soooooo protective an inquisitive - my little firecracker in a pug suit!  I love her to pieces and yes, she does have an outfit in every color!!!  Paisley loves to dance under my apple tree - spinning in circles and barking!  She’s just an amazing little puglette and I could keep writing but I’ll run out of room!  Thanks for all the sweet comments on my beautiful little puggy girl!  xxxooo

CHAPTER 2:  IN SEARCH OF…..............

One fine day, Paisley had put on her lovely pink sweater and she felt particularly luscious because, the pink sweater had just come out of the dryer and it was warm and cozy feeling.  Since she was only a tiny puglette, she was fed a couple of times a day….but it was well after breakfast, in fact it was almost noon, and Paisley was hungry!  Not for anything big but simply some small tidbit that would “tide her over” until feeding time.  Now Paisley knew about “treats”, she knew where they were kept, and….she knew that only mama gave them out.  But on this particular day, Paisley remembered that her mama kept treats in the bedroom…and since this is where Paisley went to look at herself in the mirror….a thought crept into Paisley’s mind…As she approached the bedroom door..she glanced around and noticed Mama was not in sight.  She carefully headed toward the mirror and took up her position of sitting in front of it….but other thoughts danced through her mind.  She wondered if she could reach up and have a look at the bedside table next to wear her mama slept.  On tippy toes… Paisley moved away from the mirror and jumped up, placing her paws lightly on the bedside table…and what could she see?  A STAGGERING NUMBER OF MILKBONES !  She gently reached out a paw and was met with instant success when a single milk bone came scooting off the bedside table!  Oh, how happy, how delighted little Paisley was!  She silently crunched the small, but delicate treat into four or five pieces, and then with infinite quickness, chewed them down!  Instantly, mama appeared in the doorway of the bedroom exclaiming…“Paisley,  you have been in here an awful long time!”
Paisley quickly ran to mama who scooped her up and lavished her with kisses and hugs…....It would be several months before mama caught on to this new trick…in the meantime…Paisley could accomplish two missions on her trip to the bedroom.  Dallying in front of the mirror…..and milk bone hunting!

Coming soon…Chp3:  The pink sweater begins to get tight….

CHAPTER 3:  The Pink Sweater Begins To Get Tight…..

On a lazy fall afternoon, Paisley had just finished prancing under and around the apple tree.  Upon entering her home, mama said"My little baby, how would you like a nice cold fresh drink of water?”....As soon as mama gave her cold, fresh water, Paisley lapped some up greedily, for she was thirsty after a nice long play outside.  Mama then told Paisley to take a little nap.  Paisley was sleepy, BUT, before she could sleep, she couldn’t resist a trip down to the bedroom to check out that perfectly puggish profile in the mirror….
It must have been (who knows how long)..... Hearing approaching footsteps, Paisley hastened to finish the milk bone that she had managed to scoot off the beside table and hurriedly took up her position in front of the mirror.  As she looked at herself, mama entered the room and said"Paisley, There you are!”  Mama loved Paisley soooo, much…..but then she noticed the bedside table…...Mama said to herself (I swear there were more treats on the table…..she took a long look at Paisley….picked her up, and carefully examined her…. “Ooh!” Mama exclaimed… “I do believe I see traces of crumbs on that little black whiskered muzzle!”  Paisley’s ears went back….and mama said…“I do believe that little pink sweater is tighter and I do believe SOMEONE has learned how to do a new trick…the art of retrieving milk bones….on the sly!  Since Paisley was already happily ensconced in her mama’s lap, it was not difficult to reach her little rose tongue up to mama’s cheek and plant a good many kisses on her mama…..As for mama, she coveted Paisley’s kisses and kissed her on her soft little head many many times.  Mama then stood up with Paisley in her arms, and reaching to the bedside table, opened the drawer and tossed the milk bones inside, closing the drawer securely.
She gazed into Paisley’s beautiful eyes and said “Paisley, I have made you a beautiful sweater…and now it’s a little snug…I think I know why!! You are the most precious, clever, and mishchevious puglette I know… I am blessed!  Then mama walked out of the room with Paisley in her arms….and that night..Paisley received a din din of lean chicken and chopped carrots nice and warm….She loved this meal and afterwards, went out to dance and prance around the apple tree again…..

Robin, what an entertaining tale.  You carried it off so nicely and I couldn’t wait until I read each sentence.  I was really hooked and could practically see myself under the apple tree with Paisley as she told me about her escapade.  Your tale is very enchanting.

Oh Grannygoogs,

I am so sorry to hear about your new baby pugs!  I was really looking forward to hearing about them.  My heart goes out to you.

I am having lumbar spine surgery on December 5 here in Massachusetts.  I have been out of work (I’m a special ed. teacher) since March 1st.  I will admit, I’m somewhat afraid.  Thank you for your prayers…I appreciate it.

Sue VDB

11/11/2011

Robin, not sure what you mean by lumbar spine surgery.  I had two back surgeries in the 70’s and 80’s for slipped discs.  I have done well.  I know you will be fine.  I will light a candle for you at Mass Sunday, and pray for you.  Hugs from me, and gentle kisses from Romeo.

Robin Anne Erbland

11/11/2011

Hi Sue:  I have degenerative disc disease and spondylolisthesis….it is extremely painful to sit, stand or walk…I am in sooo much pain.  Please hug and kiss Romeo for me….I wish I could do it myself!

Huckle

11/11/2011

Gee Robin, how do you manage being in so much consistent pain?  I can’t imagine, but you do seem to have a good take on life despite it.  Best wishes on your upcoming surgery and I’m sure you will be fine.  After all, you have OBP rooting for you.

Oh GG, I am crying with you.  Those babies were a part of you already.  Stay strong.

I JUST LOVE BEING PART OF OUR PUG FAMILY!!!!  I will be thinking of all of you…I will be at Union Hospital in Lynn, MA for the surgery… and then (about 5 days later), will be moved to a rehab…I’m thinking I may take a few of my pug pictures with me .. to look at as I will be gone from this site for so long.

Wayne Blackman

11/13/2011

Robin the pugs are with you through everything lo they do not do windows. God Bless let the healing begin. Sometimes when a healing is necessary God will send a pug
to your heart. A word of warning once the pug is there they never want to go-a forever friendship. I know i am a little crazy but with a pug it helps.

11/13/2011

Robin we will miss your stories while you are gone I am saying a prayer all goes well and you are back on the blog soon

Huckle

11/14/2011

Robin, rehab will leave you with plenty of time to write your stories.  Enchant us all!  Perhaps you could take a laptop with you?

Wayne Blackman

11/14/2011

I am a little red faced. I seem to be the only guy who writes here among all the ladies. Maybe i should be a quiet pug lover and leave the ladies to tell their stories of the mighty pugs. WB

Robin Anne Erbland

11/14/2011

Huckle:  I’ve been advised to leave the laptop at home…

Wayne:  I think we should collaborate on a story…for example…you write a chapter, then I write a chapter…and so on….besides, with me going int the hospital in only a couple of weeks….everyone will be DEPENDING upon you to write!

Wayne Blackman

11/14/2011

Great idea Robin and the pug can finish the story. We all know pugs are great story writers. hahaha

Huckle

11/14/2011

Now Wayne, really….don’t you dare quit with your comments.  You may be the only guy who writes in, but that does not mean that you are the only guy in OBP-land.  We have come to count on your interesting and some times off beat slices of life.  Gender is not important but I think we do have to quit addressing ourselves as “ladies”...would that make you more comfortable?  If you didn’t know, “Huckle” could be either sex.  And Robin (without the Anne in it) could be either as well.

No Wayne, you can’t quit.  Once in a while were hear from other men, so we know they at least read OBP.  We want your input.

Grannygoogs

11/15/2011

Wayne we at OBP need you - don’t you dare quit!!! otherwise we will send pugs into your dreams everynight and you will wake up needing ‘pugs’
Keep the pug faith!!
