WAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

It was a bright and beautiful day when Pugsley woke up that morning.  He had been sleeping contentedly in his little bed all covered up and dreaming about his birthday.  Oh! ......He was excited, but he hadn’t slept too much of the night before and finally he had drifted off the morning of his birthday…when all of a sudden his mama had come to him and whispered ever so softly “Wake up Pugsley…its your birthday!! ” Pugsley had leaped out of his little bed and twirled around in circles…giving his mama a few big slurpy pug kisses!  Party day!!  He knew something special was going to happen…he was having a party!!  All of his puggy friends were going to come and bring him presents and share in the special bone cake his mama had made for him.  He kept asking mama when the party was going to begin and who was coming… and she told him .... Annie, Knutia Jean, the Colorado 2, Claira Belle and all his puggy friends..simply everyone he KNEW! And everyone was going to bring presents!  He was so excited…games too…. he thought.  There would be a pug race, pin the tail on a kitty and the roll-a-grape-with-your- muzzle contest…Then everyone would anxiously gather together in a huddle and watch as Pugsley tore the paper off his presents.  (Secretly, Pugsley was hoping for many toys and boxes of treats!)  He was so looking forward to snuffing out the candles of his cake (and he would NOT TELL) anyone what his wish was for!....(Actually, Pugsley was secretly wishing for a baby brother or sister pug to keep him company and share his soft, warm bed with him)...but in the meantime toys and treats would be MORE than okay.  His mama had given him a bath the night before and Pugsley smelled good, looked good, and felt like the lushest, furriest, softest pug in the world…Yes indeed…thought Pugsley…I am one lucky pug to be so looked after and loved!  His mama had picked him up and placed him on the counter in front of his nice bone birthday cake ....and she told him…“I want to get a picture of you to remember forever this special day!”...Pugsley, being a pug with a never-ending appetite had taken one look at that cake…and then one sniff….when he decided that he simply coudn’t resist, and as his mama prepared to take the picture…Pugsley gently lapped at his frosting…and snuck JUST the tiniest of bites….(really he was trying to restrain himself from devouring the cake. (After all, what pug can resist food?)  Mama looked up and said “Pugsley! .....“Theres frosting on your nose!”...to which Pugsley responded with a great big puggy grin…“Well it’s my cake and MY BIRTHDAY!”
