Sol lets out a little toot almost every time you pick her up. It adds to her old lady charm.
Henry is highly offended by farts and even fart sounds. If you pass gas, he will walk off in a huff and glare at your from across the room. He will even leave if you are petting him. That's how offended he gets.
Benjamin is terrified of sewers. If he comes upon a sewer unexpectedly he will drop to his belly and scrape his nails. He knows where every single sewer is in our neighborhood and stays as far away as possible on each walk. He has been like this since the day we brought him home. In fact, he almost got hit by a car on our very first walk together. He saw a sewer & hit the ground and a car turned a corner and almost hit us both. At first I had no idea why he hit the ground & was trembling in fear, but after a few days I figured out he was afraid of all the sewers in the neighborhood. After he made a mental map of all the drain locations he did a lot better on walks.
Luna eats dried worms. Or at least she tries to when we are not looking.
Well, there you have it. A few pug secrets exposed.
The way the pugs flip, flop, scratch, fluff and move around all the parts of the dog bed, I think making the perfect sleeping spot is only slightly easier than assembling Ikea furniture.
Geez, pugs! If I've told you once, I've told you a thousand times. If you are going to sit on the circle rugs, please sit on the mat underneath your picture. Thanks.
Yesterday I tweeted about a quirk of Benjamin's that had previously gone unnoticed by me.
I was in the kitchen giving the pugs a treat. I told them to sit and I noticed that Benny nonchalantly backed up to the rug and then sat, rather than just plopping his bottom down on the tile floor. This of course made me laugh and then I wondered does he always do this and I just never notice or was this just a fluke. So I made sure to give the pugs a few extra treats yesterday and sure enough Benny always moved over the rug before sitting. Here is a short video of Mr. Particular making sure his bottom stays warm.
The summer heat here in Florida is making Baby Benny cranky. See Benny is a pug that likes his routine and the heat is wreaking havoc on his routines. His 5pm walks have been cut to just a short trip to the mailbox and he can't go for his long evening walk until the sun has set. None of these things make for a happy Benny.
It really is funny how disruptions in his routine cause him to mope around the house. By the way he acts, you'd think he missed Wapner at 11.
This was a game we frequently played when Benjamin & Henry were puppies. The whole purpose of the game was to trick Benjamin & Henry into practicing their Sit, Stay & Come commands, but to do it in a fun way that allowed them to work off their puppy energy.
First the sit & stay while I move away.
Then the come command.
Looks like Benny was a little bit quicker out of the gates.
Almost up to full speed.
Still truckin'.
About halfway there and Benny has taken the lead.
Benny coming into the home stretch, completely blocking Henry from the frame.
Benny finishing strong. You can see his wrinkly skin flapping in the wind and his eyes are fixed on the prize - the treat.
