Happy Valentine’s Day

Henry and Cupid

Happy Gotcha Day, Cupid! 14 years ago we sprung this mischievous kitty from the pound.

It might be Valentine's Day, hence the name Cupid, but don't let the sweet look of this picture fool you. Poor Henry has to share his favorite spot with Benjamin and Luna and now Cupid wants in on the action.

Cupid, has been laying on the sofa recently, but unlike Benjamin and Luna she isn't quite as willing to share. When she gets on the sofa, she lets Henry know which cushion he is allowed to use and if he so much as looks at her there will be consequences to pay. Poor Hank!

Reunited

Henry

While the rest of the country was braving the Polar Vortex 2.0, us Floridians had some gloomy, rainy days. We probably had close to a week with little or no sun and Henry was starting to get a bit depressed. He was so happy one night when the clouds broke and he was able to catch some sunbeams from the setting sun. Henry parked himself in the driveway and soaked up every ounce of sunshine until the sun finally set. Then, and only then, would he consider coming back into the house.

Slow Down

Henry

We live at the end of a pretty sleep cul de sac. Its a great place for the neighborhood kids to play and the pugs, being the social butterflies they are, love to go out and say hi to everyone.

When the occasional car drives by sometimes they forget they are on a residential street and they drive a little fast. So we got these signs to put in the street to remind them that they are on a neighborhood street.

I think Henry makes a good grumpy traffic cop. What do you think?

Flashback Friday

Henry

This picture is from November 2003.

With the holiday season in full swing I couldn't resist posting this picture of Henry as a disgruntled reindeer. Talk about bah hum pug!

Holding Down the Couch

Henry

I think we can officially call this cushion on the sofa Henry's. If I am ever looking for him, this is the first place I check. It's a comfy spot with pillows and a great view out the front door. What more could a pug want?

Dry Nose

Henry

I'm sure there is an official term for it, but do any of your pugs suffer from "dry nose"? Henry's nose gets very dry on the very tip and if it get dry enough it will actually flake off. Luna's nose is sorta the same way, but not as bad as Henry's.

Luckily, just a little bit of Vaseline for a few days, clears things right up.

Even

Benjamin and Henry

Over the years, the boys have come across some interesting things on their walks. When they were pups, it was way worse because anything they found they tried to eat. Now, they are a little bit more selective. Key words: little bit.

Of everything they have ever found, Henry takes the cake for stumbling across a whole peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Henry found the sandwich on a hike in Maryland. It was slightly off the trail and I had never seen Henry get so excited about one of his finds. Unfortunately, we didn't let him eat it, because what is a peanut butter and jelly sandwich doing on the side of a hiking trail. But, even though Henry did not get to enjoy his spoils he still held the title of best food find while on a walk.

Henry has held his title for 10 years now, but last week, Benjamin finally earned his own set of bragging rights when he came stumbled across a peanut butter and jelly sandwich of his own on his morning walk. Benny didn't get to eat the sandwich he found either, but he was so excited to tell Henry that he isn't the only one that has found a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Of all the things that we have ever found on a walk, never once did I think that we would find another pb&j sammy.
