The other night we took the pugs to the City Center for a nice stroll around the lake. On our way out of the house, we made our way through the laundry room and I opened the door leading to the garage. When I opened the door, I realized that the big garage door was up. The pugs weren’t leashed because we were headed right to the car and I didn’t think the garage door was open. I didn’t think much of it, though. The pugs were so excited to be going for a car ride that they were just running big circles around the car and out into the driveway waiting for me to get them buckled in. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw a man walking down the street. I saw him and so did the pugs. I didn’t make a big deal out of it because I knew the pugs were so happy to be going in the car that they wouldn’t care about greeting the man walking down the street. Sol, however, felt obligated to give him the what’s what. She trotted over to the edge of the driveway, stood tall and let out three woofs for good measure. The man turned and smiled and Sol stood her ground until he was past the house. Then she turned, proud of herself, and ran to the car.
So if you are walking by the house, and Sol happens to be awake, you’ve been warned.

“You weren’t sitting here were you?”
Good thing I don’t subscribe to the same theory as Benjamin & Luna. I don’t think you could handle me sitting on you, could you Hank?

It would appear that Luna has taken a page out of Benny’s book and has started laying right on top of Henry. The bright spot for Henry? Luna is about 8 pounds lighter than Benny.

We interrupt our regularly scheduled Caption This programming to wish you a Happy St. Patrick’s Day. These festive bandanas were part of a set given as a Christmas gift to the pugs from their Great Aunt. At the time, we were a three pug household. But it worked out perfectly because I took this picture the same day that I took Luna’s “Does this shirt make me look fat?” picture. Luna would have loved to have been in this photo but she had exceeded the max amount of work time allowed by law for a pug. So she was off getting treats while Sol, Benjamin & Henry had to work.

Sol’s follow-up appointment this morning went very well! Everything is healing very nicely in her mouth and the pathology report on the part removed from her jaw showed clean margins! I am so very happy about that! I have been keeping my fingers crossed, hoping that we would get clean margins.
Thank you everyone for the well wishes!
Sorry for the delayed update. It has been a long, hectic day, but the best kind of long, hectic day you can have

Today, we take Sol in for her post surgery checkup. From our perspective, Sol’s mouth seems to be healing quite nicely, but we will know for sure after today’s visit.
We got the cytology results for Sol’s mammary tumors and it is good news. The lumps are inflamed tissue. We will need to make an appointment with our regular vet to see if he recommends having them removed. Right now they are very small, but if they grow in size odds are likely we will need to have them removed. The trickier part is figuring out if Sol is spayed or not. We haven’t been able to find a scar on her hairy little belly and we have learned that an ultrasound might not be able to give us a definitive answer either. I’m not really keen on waiting to see if she goes into heat to find out if she is spayed.
I’m not so concerned about not seeing a scar on her belly, because Luna’s scar is barely visible and she has absolutely no fur on her belly. When we adopted Luna, her scar was very pronounced, but it has since faded away to almost nothing. However, if Sol was spayed early in life the odds of her developing inflamed mammary tissue are very slim. So, hopefully, Sol has been spayed, but just not as early as they would like. Her being spayed, even if it was later in life, would be better than her never being spayed. We shall see.

Luna is wearing one of the shirts that G-Ma recently sent to her. The shirts are a bit snug, but you can’t fault G-Ma for that. She specifically asked me what size to get and I told her small, but I think we should have went with Medium. So, Looney, it just that the shirt is a little snug, that’s all.
If you look really closely you will see the boys peering out the front door.
