This week’s flashback: Chef Henri
Because he was helping me cook just the other night.

The pugs’ bed in the living room was pretty much on its last leg so when I saw this huge bed last weekend I couldn’t pass it up. The pugs seem to like it OK and it is good to know that if we ever adopt a mastiff or 5 more pugs there will be plenty of space for them to lay around. Heck, when the pugs crowd me in bed at night I might just come and sleep on this!

As you know, Benjamin & Henry have an ongoing battle for the bin each workday. Benjamin almost always wins and even if he didn’t beat Henry to the bin he feels like he should win because he’s Baby Benny.
So after months of trying everything except getting another bin, I think I have come up with a solution that is agreeable to both parties. I took one of their new donut beds and put it on a ottoman I have in my office. This isn’t the special part, though, I have tried the bed on the ottoman solution before. What I did differently this time, is that I was sure to place the ottoman in the same sun beam that warms the bin. I think this was the piece I was missing all along!
Here I was thinking that the pugs liked the bin because it was elevated and I was missing once crucial piece - sunshine. So the key to creating two agreable sleeping spots was elevating the bed and putting it in the sunbeam. The other day they even took turns sharing the bin and the bed on the ottoman.
Lucky for me, Luna has no interest in laying in either the bin or the bed on the ottoman because I am out of ottomans and I would have to move a bookcase to fit her into the same sunbeam!

From our recent trip to the dog park, here is a shot of Benjamin peering into one of the tunnels. Who is that shadowy figure lurking inside?
Looking forward to your captions in the comments.

When my family was in town, we went to New Smyrna Beach for a very cool Segway tour. On the way there, I saw a sign for a dog park. I hadn’t known about the dog park, so I couldn’t wait to take the pugs there for a visit.
The park was quite spacious and there were a few dogs there playing when we arrived. The park also had the big tunnels that the boys love to run through. We haven’t been able to convince Luna to go through the tunnel yet. She just doesn’t see the point of it.
This big guy wanted so bad to play with Benny. As soon as we got to the park, he ran up to Benny and immediately dropped down into a play stance (which Benny understood), but then he was barking at Benny to egg him on to chase him. That is where there communication breakdown occurred and Benjamin just stood there looking as confused as ever. I tried to explain to him that it is exactly what Luna does to get the boys to play, only much, much, much louder.
This guy arrived shortly after us and started his visit in small dog area. The pugs had so much fun playing with him through the fence. They ran back and forth and back and forth. The other dog’s owner eventually brought him over to the other side of the park where all the other dogs were and I thought the pugs would have so much fun chasing this quick guy around. But, as soon as he came to our side of the park, the pugs had no interest in playing with him whatsoever!
After all their romping and stomping it was time to head home.
