Benjamin, being the creature of habit that he is, loves to sleep in a little bin that I have in my office. To make things more comfy for him, I have put a dog pillow in there and even though it is a tight fit it is one of his favorite spots to sleep during the day.
The other day Henry beat Benny to the punch and claimed the bed for his own. When Benny came in to claim his usual spot he was quite perterbed that Henry was already in it. He sat at the foot of the bin and whined telling Henry that he would like him to move. Henry didn’t budge and I told Benny sorry, but Henry was there first. This did not sit well with Benny and the next thing I know, Benny makes a jump for it and plops himself down right on top of Henry.

Benny was hoping that Henry would become uncomfortable and leave his basket, but no such luck. Henry stayed and Benny was forced to make himself comfortable around Henry. No matter how hard he tried, Benny just couldn’t get comfortable. But, never once did the thought cross his mind to go lay on one of the other two dog beds in my office. Nope, this is Benny’s sleeping spot and where he sleeps everyday, so he would rather be uncomfortable than have to change his routine.

Here’s an action shot of Benjamin, Henry & Luna playing at the beach. Looking forward to your captions in the comments.

The boys and Luna had a great time running around at the beach last Friday. It was an overcast day so that kept down on the crowds a bit and that is always good because it gives the pugs a little bit more room to romp and stomp.

Luna was particularly fired up when we first got to the beach. She was running around, full-steam, like a wild woman. Benny was more than happy to chase her.

Henry, of course, took a dip in the water. And while he swam, Benny taunted him from the water’s edge trying to coax him out. It worked a few times.

When we packed up and started heading for the car all that was left was evidence of lots of fun.

The morning at the beach was grand (pics coming on Monday) but after we got home it was time to get to some necessary grooming. First up was toenail clipping. This is by far my least favorite thing to do and it surely isn’t high up on the pug’s favorite things list. I clip all their nails (front and back paws) and then I file them down using a dremel. They behave as well as can be expected, but with 3 pugs the whole process just wears on me. I do need to remember not to do Benjamin’s nails last though. He is by far the worst so I need to remember to get him out of the way when I am fresh. Benny has this habit of trying to smack the dremel away from his nails using his free paw. He likes to live on the wild side.
After I cut their nails, I brushed them all in the backyard. I like to brush them before I give them a bath, so as to save the drain from a little bit of their fur. And today they were sandy so the brushing helped to get rid of a lot of that. All of the pugs loved to be brushed and I really enjoy brushing them. It is relaxing. A lot of times when I get off work I will go out and the yard and brush them to unwind a little. I also let the cat out in the yard and brushed her this afternoon. She is a shedding machine!
After brushing, came bath time. Much to his disliking Benny was up first. He was a good boy in the tub, though. Benny was followed by Henry and Henry did great. Little Luna was last and she was by far the dirtiest of the three. I’m not sure why but she is always twice as dirty as Benjamin & Henry.
After that the pups were pooped and so was I. Getting everyone’s nails clipped and getting everyone washed up can take a lot out of you. But, tonight is great because I have three little pugs that all smell like bananas curled up with me on the couch. Their coats are super soft and they look great. Too bad it won’t last too long!
Have a great weekend everyone!

We took the day off work today and thought the best way to get a 3-day weekend started was to head to the beach. I’m not sure who is more excited me or the pugs.
Have a great weekend everyone!

We have pictures of each one of the “kids” in the room that normal people would use for a dining room at our house. Below each one of the pictures is a little circle mat. Luna loves to lay on the circle mats in the afternoon to bask in the setting sun. I always tease her, though, because she never lays on her circle rug. Instead, she always lays on the rug underneath Henry’s picture. Her official spot is one picture to the right

One of the things I was worried about when we adopted Luna was how the addition of a third pug would affect Benjamin &Henry’s relationship. The boys, had been together everyday since they were 12 weeks old and not only were they very tight they were inseparable.
While things did change after we adopted little Luna, I am happy to say that the boys are as close as ever. Sure, sometimes they have an extra cuddle buddy, but they don’t seem to mind and they still have that unique bond that will forever make them “my boys.”
