I was strolling through Walgreens the other day, when I saw this cute dog bed. At first, I was a little taken off guard because I didn’t expect Walgreens to have such a cool dog bed. But after I looked at it for awhile, I just knew that the boys and Luna would love this new bed. It didn’t matter that they needed this bed like I needed a hole in my head. The pugs already have about 5 or 6 nice pillow beds. But, this bed was wasn’t your typical pillow bed, it had sides and I just thought they would like that for a change. And for $10, I just couldn’t resist it. So, of course, I bought the bed.
As soon as I put the bed down on the floor, the pugs didn’t disappoint. Benjamin immediately jumped in and made himself comfortable.
As soon as Benjamin left the bed, Henry jumped right in and tried it out for himself.

The next morning, I noticed that Henry was lounging in the bed again. Ben, however, wanted Henry to make room for him too, so he squeezed in as much as he could.

We have a wall in our “play” room that we call our picture wall. On the wall is an 8x10 of each one of the pets. We try to update the wall with new pictures every few months, but we have fallen pretty far behind lately. So far behind actually, that the last update was pre-Luna so, the little girl didn’t even have her picture up on the wall.
So, this week, we finally got around to updating the wall. The first photo is a good overview, but her is each individual shot.

When we take the pugs out in the yard, we let Cupid come with us. She loves to eat the grass and chase the bugs.

Benny loves to mug for the camera. His is so handsome and he knows it!

Henry is the silliest. There is something about the grass and the sun that just makes him want to roll around.

And last but not least, little Luna. She is such a sweetheart.

Every afternoon, shortly after his lunchtime snack, you will find Benny sitting on his throne. His throne is really the arm of the sofa, but don’t tell him that. He loves to perch himself up there because it is a cozy spot and he has a direct view out the front door. Therefore, he can bark at passersby from the lap of luxury.

Here is what the King can see from his royal spot. Notice Henry laying on the rug by the door. That is Henry’s favorite afternoon spot.

All this talk about food has me wondering,
Monday, January 15, 2007

Pizza is my favorite food. I could eat pizza for breakfast, lunch and dinner and never get sick of it. I do try to watch what I eat, however, so I don’t indulge in pizza nearly as much as I would like. But every once and awhile, we go to our local pizza shop. We usually eat there and when we do, I feel bad that the pugs aren’t there to get a piece of the crust. So, I save them each one piece of crust and give it to them when we get back home.
Needless to say, Benjamin, Henry and Luna, love it when I come home with pizza crust! When I give them their piece they all run off to the favorite spots and go to town. Luna and Henry run to the shag rug and Benny runs to his favorite pillow.

It is so funny to watch Luna wrestle around with a piece of pizza crust. She chews on it like a bone and she gets a good 5 minutes of entertainment out of it.

Henry does a good job of breaking his into bite size pieces and chewing everything up.
And Benny, well, he just inhales his. That is why there is no picture of Benny eating his pizza crust. (Note to self: take picture of Benny eating pizza crust first)

This blurry photo is of little Luna 2 seconds after we feed her. Once we put Luna’s food down she dives right in. And when she dives in, she inevitably spills bits and pieces of her meal all over here placemat. She doesn’t let this slow her down, though. She continues to scarf down what is in her bowl and then she circles around her bowl gobbling up any pieces that were flung onto the floor.
Luna’s messy eating habits drive Benjamin crazy! You may not know this, but, Benjamin is food obsessed. So to have stray pieces of food flying around while he is trying to eat is a huge distraction for Benny. Before Luna came along, Benjamin & Henry had a pact. If the food was in their bowl, the other would not touch it. However, if a scrap were to fall on the floor, it was every pug for himself and may the fastest pug win. So when Luna slings her food all over the floor, Benjamin feels as though that food is now fair game. So, he of course, leaves his bowl, knowing that no one will dare touch it, and tries to eat all of Luna’s scraps. If this was just a piece here or there it would not be a problem. But Luna routinely dumps half of here dinner onto the floor every night. So we have to fuss at Benny for scooping up all of Luna’s kibble or Luna would miss out on half her dinner every night. Whenever we fuss at him, Benjamin gives us a confused look like, “What? Its on the floor! It’s fair game!”
We have also tried to get Luna to slow down and take her time when she eats, but we haven’t had much luck. I guess we are going to have to try bigger dog bowls. Although, the dog bowls are just a formality to her. I think she would prefer it if we just dumped her food on the floor. It is pretty much what she does at every meal.

If you ask the simple question, “Do you want to go?” in our house, you will find that you get quite a response. The other night, we had to run to the Post Office and we thought we would grab some Ritter’s on the way home. It was a nice night out so we thought we would ask Benjamin, Henry & Luna if they wanted to join us. Here was there response…
A quick word of caution to those who may be reading this in a quiet office or some other peaceful location. This video contains crazy pug barking, so make sure you have your sound properly adjusted before playing it.
A Simple Question on Vimeo
If you are wondering where that shrill, high pitched squeal is coming from - that is the infamous Baby Benny. I wouldn’t say he barks, he more or less shrieks. The other barking is coming from Henry and while Luna is excitedly running around, she never barks in the video. Instead, she leaves all that to her brothers! Who would have thought that two little pugs could make so much noise!
