Bully Sticks

Benjamin, Henry & Luna with their bully sticks

A few week’s ago, Mike from Best Bully Sticks sent over a few bully sticks for Benjamin, Henry and Luna to enjoy.  The boys and Luna each love to chew and we usually give them a new bone on Sundays for them to work on while we unwind and watch TV and get ready for the work week.  Yesterday, we gave the pugs each their own bully stick and they went to town!

Thanks, Mike for sending over the yummy treats!

These babes absolutely amaze me how they pose so nicely when there are treats around.  No way would Romeo do this.  He would be all over them, having no patience to pose for pictures.

Martha & Corrine - you’re totally right. How did I miss that? Hooray! Ruki is in January. Thank-you SO much!

Luna: “Could we please discuss why my Bully Stick is smaller than the boys?  How sexist is that?”

Ok, this is somthing else I’ve learned from OBP.  I’ve never heard of Bully Bones.  How long does it take the pugs to eat one?  Do they make a mess?  Thanks.

Christina - bully sticks are beef penises.. the tendons. They come in all different sizes, the bones the bones! lol
They don’t fall apart like rawhide does and it is of course all natural no added anything. My only problem is they stink! It takes a while to eat, I usually use them for when the pugs needed to be distracted so it’s hard to tell.

Gus and Indy just love them!

Christina, maybe because she’s so dainty!

Or maybe you have a point.  Let’s hope she doesn’t contact the ASPCA to lodge a formal complaint.  Cuz overall, that girl has no complaints at all!!!  If there’s reincarnation I’d like to come back as Luna.  She’s adored by all and has a closet full of pretty clothes.

I guess you learn something new everyday!  Lex, I had no idea that was what Bully sticks are.

Oh my… never heard of such items!  Interesting to find out what they are!!

How do they sit sooo obedient?  My guy would tear into a treat faster than the speed of the shutter!!!  lol

After reading the comments about bully sticks I had to research.  This is what BullySticks.com says in part:

“Our Bully Sticks are available in a wide varietly of sizes and types.  .....Bully Sticks are 100% all natural dog treats, 100% digestible and low in fat.  Bully Sticks are better for your dog than rawhide chews.  Bully Sticks are an excellent way to reduce tartar build up.  Bully Sticks are also a great way to satisfy your dogs desire to chew.

Bully Sticks are 100% Bull penises.  Not a tendon, and not processed meat strips.  Bully Sticks are dried, lightly smoked or natural flavor and and delivered to your door. We never try to hide what they are by giving them little cute names”.

Oops, I thought they were the tendon.. smile

Just becareful, there are imitation bully sticks that look the same but are all processed stuff.
The ingrediants list says it all.. smile

Me again.  After reading the BullySticks.com website I order a package of 10 6” size.  They are $14.50, but sounds like they are worth the cost.  Will post later after Romeo has had a chance to investigate.

Yup!  They are also called Bull Prizzle.  And heck yes, they STINK!  C.J. always chokes on his cuz he tries to chew the whole thing til it’s soft and then swallow it whole!

Great Googly Moogly!  I am LMAO about what a bully stick really is.  YUCK and ICK!  Ok, My precious Sleighbelle is fixed so that she can date, but I’ll be darned if she is gonna get one of these!  How many bull penis’ does it take to make a package of these sticks?  Poor bull!  In Texas we (not me) eat calf fries (a nice name for bull balls), but we steer (get it?) clear of the penis!  This is so funny, I could make many more jokes, but I will refrain.
Martha, you are right…I’d love to come back as Luna too!  A great family and all the pretty clothes I can wear!

Look at it this way Christina…I’m so glad that apparently no portion of the bull is wasted AND I’m REALLY glad that that particular portion doesn’t end up in hotdogs with the rest of that junk!!  LOL!

I’m glad Benjamin, Henry and Luna like them!

Lex is right - definitely stay away from imitation bully sticks. Some of those are brittle and, when chewed, can break apart and choke your dogs.

All bully sticks have a bit of a stink. It’s unfortunately unavoidable - especially if they aren’t washed & prepared thoroughly. But we’ve searched high & low and tested countless kinds to find the most unstinkiest bully sticks we could find. Those are the only kinds we’ll stock (can you imagine having a room full of cheap, stinky bully sticks? P-U!).

Enjoy those bully sticks! And thanks again for the kind words!

OMG Karen!! That is too funny!! And kind of gross…
Christina - they are so much better for them, even though that is what they are! I just laugh when I get looks about the bones the dogs have. smile And they come in many sizes.. some of them make me wonder how big the bull was! And they can be expensive but compared to rawhide, so worth it! smile

Karen B….Not sure if I’ll ever eat another hotdog!  LMAO!  I love this website and the folks who post here.

Yup!  Gives you a whole new perspective and appreciation for all “mystery meat” products!
