Fit for a King

We kicked off Henry's birthday with a trip to the beach, but this wasn't any ordinary trip to the beach. The pugs were going to the beach to meet longtime blog reader Jennifer and her Mom, Mary. It was so great meeting them both and the pugs simply loved them. Not only were they so very nice, they also had great petting hands and they brought a little Easter basket for the pugs. Here is a shot of Luna with Jennifer with Luna doing her very own Easter Bunny impersonation.

Henry was definitely on cloud nine as he got to take about a 20 minute car ride to the beach, then a short walk to the actual beach and then there was water, sand, dogs, people and lots of petting. An ideal day for him.

In addition to meeting Jennifer & Mary the pugs also met a little turtle that was hanging out on the beach.

And look at little Miss Luna. It looks like she is enjoying her brother's birthday fun too.

We spent a few hours on the beach and by the time we got back to the truck, the pugs were wiped out. We got them buckled into the car, gave them a little treat from their Easter basket and before we knew it the car was filled with a chorus of pug snoring.

When we got back home, we brushed all the sand that the pugs decided to bring home with them out of their coats and then the left the pugs to get a little nap. Later that night, it was ice cream, chewing and more snoring. I think their little beach adventure tuckered them out!

A big thank you to Jennifer & Mary for meeting us and snapping so many pictures. Thanks to them I could take a day off from being behind the camera grin

Totally jealous of Jennifer and Mary!!

This looks like The Perfect birthday!!!

I agree that Looney is the sweetest easter bunny around.

Corrine, got your email about how to post Cole/Bax pics…sorry I haven’t gotten back to you yet.  Things are just insane on this end…Hope to get them up there by week’s end (and get Solsie’s donation made)!  I barely have time to breathe lately.

Hope everyone had a lovely puggie Easter!

I’m with Heather…so jealous of Jennifer and Mary getting to meet Benny, Henry and Easter bunny Luna.  What a fun day, and some great pictures.

Romeo got to help my grandson Ben hunt for The Easter basket and all the eggs at Gramma’s house.  He was more interested in the Easter basket than the plastic eggs though, so had to watch him closely.

I’m so happy Henry had so much fun on his birthday!  He’s lucky to be a Floridian and able to spend it at the beach!  Looks like a great day for all three of them!

I love the photo of the boys and the turtle.  It cracks me up how a pug strains so hard to get close to something; while still maintaining a safe “turn tail and run” distance!!!  Sleighbelle does this too and it cracks me up.

I don’t know about the others on this site, but I say ROAD TRIP to Florida!!!

Happy Birthday Henry! Glad you had fun with family and friends in the sun and the sand and the water.
Wow, Jennifer and Mary are the lucky ones. To meet these beautiful puggies and their fantastic parents would be great fun! Sleighbelle, you are so right. If only it weren’t such a long road trip from Seattle.

Add me to the jealous camp as well.  I’d feel like I was meeting a “celebrity” if I ever got to meet the gang.

This may not be the right place to share this but I just wanted to tell everyone what a great friend my pal Gavin is.  He and I met online a few years ago and have only met in person once but stay in touch via Facebook.  Last year, I cross stitched a little quote for a mutual friend that he really liked and he had asked me twice to please stitch one up for him.  I finally relented (arthritis in my hands has, unfortunately, taken some of the fun out of cross stitch) and sent it out last week.  He had even offered to pay me for it but .... well, you can’t charge friends for cross stitch!  After he got it, he sent me the sweetest email and again offered to pay me.  This was this past Friday when “Pugpossessed” made their lovely offer to make donations to Solsey’s charity.  Suddenly, the light went off!  So I emailed Gavin the link to Sol’s memorial fun and guess what?  He made a donation!  I was so touched and so humbled.  I wish that sweet little girl could know how many lives she continues to touch.

Paula, this is the PERFECT place to share your story!  That’s wonderful!

This was absolutley the most fun!  The kids really do have such individual personalities!  Luna is a petitie, tiny little spitfire.  The internet really does add ‘10 pounds’! For some reason I thought she’d be bigger!  Benny is Baby Benny.  *sigh*  Those wrinkles are just so smoochables and soft!  And he was a big talker, the first to bark and the first to run behind the others.  Hank seems to have no fear!  LOVED the neck itches and very inquisitive!!!  But it was Luna who was the first to go over and sniff the turtle close, rather than from a distance!  Sure, the turtle was startled which in turn startled her, but she’s got a lot of courgage!!!

Fun was had by all and the celebrity pug meetup really started my vacation off with a bang!

Misses and kisses kids…

Jennifer, I guess you know how envious we are of you to personally meet the OPB gang.  I’m sure these are memories you will keep for a very long time.  Thanks for sharing your experience.
