Fruits of his Labor

Henry

It has only taken him 9 years, but Henry has finally started to put a dent in his kong. Henry loves to get a peanut butter filled kong and he will lick and chew on the kong for hours one end. He only chews on the kong after he has gotten all the peanut butter out from inside. I think, he thinks, that if he chews on the kong he can crack it open and get every last drop of peanut butter out from inside. He has been trying for 9 years to crack open the kong and he is finally getting one step closer. You can now see his teeth marks. Progress.... grin

Sweetheart, what are you going to do if you finally break through?  I think you will get a new kong and have to start all over again.  Won’t that be a bummer after all the years of hard work.

I won’t tell our family’s baby pug she’ll never crack her new kong. Does anyone freeze the peanut butter filled kong first?? My daughter used to freeze hers before giving it to her pug, Zorro. She said it wasn’t as messy.  What do you think, freeze or not to freeze, that is the question??

Henry, I’m impressed!  C.J. and Toeby think the peanut butter is all there is to a Kong, they don’t know they are supposed to chew on it also!

Well, the saga goes on…C.J. is limping and I found a lump on Toeby over his right hip…I am thinking mast cell tumor…Yegads, it never ends…I feel like I need to take early retirement so I can stay home with my babies!

Karen, it is so tough when one of our babies has a problem, but when two of them have a problem it can almost get overwhelming.  Please keep us posted.

Will do!  I am just about to call the vet…

Also and completely unrelated, I thought maybe some of you could send up some prayers for the family of Connor Clark, the son of my husband’s business partner…He was 18 and killed in a car accident Thursday evening…These are the best people and I just can’t even begin to wrap my head around losing a child…

At first glance, I thought this was a very small fire hydrant.  (Off to the eye doctor)  I love this picture of Henry.  You can see his character shining in his eyes.

Karen - We (I think I speak for all of us) We are here for you and give a shout out when you need to talk.  I know you’re scared but we are behind you for support when you need it.

Karen, praying for y’all here. Jim & I lost a baby before she was born but I can’t imagine having 18 years of memories and losing a child. May God surround them with peace.

Karen~ Sending prayers to the Clark family. What a tragic loss. And extra prayers for CJ and Tobey too. And for you my dear! So much sadness. Sending extra hugs to everyone.

Here is a semi-funny pug story. Maybe just for a minute I could make you guys smile. I’m sure you all have experienced this with your pugs too but…. I was sweeping today and of course, piggy pug Pip has to come check out what I’ve just swept up into a pile…well, he snorts and spreads everything around and I have to sweep it up again! I had one pile and was sweeping another corner of the kitchen and I could hear him coming so I had to hurry and get to my piles to sweep into my dustpan before he got to them!!! Of course he snorted the piles around. Silly pug!

Hugs to everyone!

Thank you all for your prayers!  There are miracles to be had, for sure!  C.J. was just having a broken nail that caused his cuticle to recede, but it seems to be healing now.  The vet took fluid from Toeby’s lump with a needle and determined it to be a fatty tumor, most likely.  It was kinda funny…when the vet called to give me the test results, she said she actually had gotten some “muscle” cells in the syringe also…(Now remember, Toeby is the one with the weight issue)  I told her, “Yeah, I’m not surprised, he works out!”  She laughed and said “Okay, but lay off the steroids!”.

It’s so nice to smile!
