Little Tree

Luna

Luna was quite fascinated by this little tree that she stumbled upon while we were on one of our morning walks.

She walked right up the rock, turned around and peed right on top of the little tree. Then she ran off to her brothers to tell them that she just peed on top of a tree. Top that boys!

You know what they say:  It always gets down to a p!!!-ing contest with the guys.  Leave it to “our” Feminist Puggist - La Luna to pop her own squat and give them a run for their money!  Watch out for the pricklies, though, Luna-Dollie.

Our annual pug-o-ween is this Sunday!!! Pip is black (in case people didn’t know) and he is going to be King Kong. We made a t-shirt that has a picture of the empire state building on it and we are attaching a small doll called a Polly Pocket to the shirt. I hope he wins something. smile

Little Luna has been around boys so much that she’s started to think like them!  Love it!  It took her awhile, but she waited until she found just the right tree!  You go girl!!!

GINA:  Yes, PLEASE!  Do post some pics of Pip as the Mighty King Kong.  Bella is black also - and one year she greeted the trick or treaters as a rotund bumble bee (I think I’ve mentioned she’s a chub) and another year she was a lady bug, and her FAVORITE costume was a WOODSTOCK suit (Snoopie’s Pal) - but I think a gorilla would be adorable!  I refuse to make her a bat!!  And last year’s pumpkin suit didn’t flatter her too much - looked much too round and she’s been dropping some lbs. along w/her mom, so . . no pumpkin this year.
HEATHER:  An OBP gathering sounds great - can just imagine the ruckus with all the pugs getting acquainted.

Oh Luna!!!!!  You go girl!!!! Why should boys have all the fun!!!

I had daughters and believe me one or the other always had to pee in the middle of no where on trips!!! When they were really smal we carried a “fold-up Pottie chair”. ThEY WOULD NOT go other wise AND HOWL BECAUSE THEY HAD TO PEE!!

Sending form in for Emma soon. Hope I get her she is really young, a year old, very small 10-lbs.

Well, that tree isn’t going to get climbed.  Corrine, you are so funny!

I’m with you Heather…OBP pack your bags.

Gina, that’s a very creative costume for Pip.

Mary, I hadn’t thought of the pricklies.  That would be a consideration.

Hellen, Emma sounds like a keeper.  Good luck.

Lots of things going on today on OBP.

Luna, that is hilarious.  I love you running to tell your brothers that you peed on a tree.  You go girl.

OBP gathering?  How wonderful it would be to meet all of you and your pugs in person.

Hellen, I pray that Emma is the little girl for you.

Today has been very busy for me as well.  Fifty years ago today George and I were married.  I go to Mass every day now because I drive Ben (grandson) to school and go in to church.

Today was also grandparents’ day and after Mass the grandparents went to the cafeteria for coffee and donuts.  We then went to our grandchildrens’ classrooms, and when the principal announced it was time to go around the school for the living museum, we stopped at each classroom and some kid represented a saint and read a little history of the saint he/she was portraying.  It was very well planned.  After that the kids who had grandparents got to go home with them.

Ben and I went to the card shop to pick out a thank you card I want to send to the school for their hospitality and presentations.  Also to pick out an anniversary card.

I picked up a friend and her grandson to go to lunch and she insisted on buying my lunch in honor of the 50th anniversary.

Then we briefly stopped at my house and I wrote a note to George.  Picked up my gold goblet, went to the liquor store and bought a very small bottle of Asti Spamanti.  We went to the cemetary where I placed the card on George’s niche.  I drank a toast to us.  There was still some Asti left and I debated to pour the rest out or drink it, as I didn’t want to have an open container in my car.  I decided to drink it and wound up with a little buzz (I don’t drink much at all). I went to the local Quik Trip and bought a large Carmel Mocchiata.

Got home about 3:15 pm.  I had intended to be gone all day as I really didn’t want to be home.  My sweet grandson accompanied me and we had a pleasant day and he was as sweet as punch.

Sorry to be so long winded, but I wanted to share my day with you. Happy weekend to all of you and your fur babies.

Way to gooooooooo, Luna girl!!!  You show your brothers smile

Miss Abby has been sick, and I have been sick, which is why I have been absent the last few weeks.  Abby has a flare of her tracheal collapse, as well as bronchitis, so she is on tons of meds for the timebeing, but still hasn’t turned a corner.  Please pray for my nearly 14 yr old girl…

Sue VDB, I hazard a guess that all of us who’ve read your comment are pleased as punch that you shared your day with us.  You found quite a positive way to deal with the bittersweetness of your anniversary.  Thank you for wanting to tell us.

Pug Mama, sending positive thoughts and blessings for you and Abby,  What does a flair of her tracheal collapse mean for her.  We are here for you.  Glad you are feeling better as you deal with Abby’s illness. Prayers are being said for you.  Bless little Abby.

Pug hugs,

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers, Abby is coming around….slowly.  She is still coughing pretty badly, but has now been on antibiotics since Thursday so I think at least infection wise things are under control.  I had to turn into mama bear on friday and demand steroids from the vet that was covering while Abby’s vet was away at a conference, cuz at first they refused to prescribe them, and I did manage to convince them that inflammation with her trachea is most of the battle and she just won’t get better without the steroid burst, with tapper.

Huckle, by a flare of her tracheal collapse, I meant that something gets her going with more coughing, and that puts more stress on her trachea, so she has a harder time breathing because it gets inflammed.  She seems to have issues with aspirating her food and water, she is a pug after all, and can’t get things down fast enough.  A couple days before she got really bad last week, she had a huge coughing fit when I had given her her dinner.  I feed her in an elevated dish which helps, and she always gets her kibble with a bit of canned food, which I think helps it slide down easier, but she still eats her food too fast, and chokes occasionally.

PUG MAMA:  I’ve been absent for the past several days.  Really sorry to hear about Abby and hope she starts on the mend really soon.
SUE VDB:  I thought your anniversary “story” was really a lovely one and so picture-able - I felt all of us were able to be right there with you - which I think we all were, in our hearts.  A belated Happy Anniversary.  I feel honored to have shared in your special day.
