Sleepy Girl

Luna

We rarely give the pugs table scraps when we eat, however, that does not keep them from staring longingly at us while we dine hoping that someone will cave and give them a few bites to eat.

Since we rarely cave, they pugs tend to get bored just watching us eat. This is especially true for Luna. As dinner goes on, her eyes begin to droop and before you know it she is laying under the table snoring. But, don't worry, give a little piece of something to the boys and she can spring back into action in no time flat.

Luna, is that one of Georgie’s bones on the rug beside you?  Shame!  Perhaps she is challenging him to come get it?  Is it possible she is trying to levitate the food off of your plate and into her mouth?

I brought some femur bones for the Swamp Pugs and Cooper yesterday and watched the interaction of their own personalities.  Macho Georgie marched over to where Cooper was and challenged him for even looking at his bone - with good reason.  Cooper is notorious for trying to round up all four bones but he looses most times.  I’m standing guard so that Georgie doesn’t carry through with his threat.  I must not have been watching too carefully.  Georgie somehow ended up with three bones on his bed and Cooper whined.

Abby, the curmudgeon of the group pays absolutely no attention to her bone - until Cooper got too close.  She (20#s) tore after Cooper (55#s) into the family room then calmly walked back to stand over her bone.  After several hours, Abby decides her bone is warmed up enough and then goes to town on it.

And Gracie?  She has no interest in any of them even when I put one on the chair she’s on.  In fact, with her adoration for Cooper, I’m surprised she hadn’t delivered her bone to him.

GG - expect to see a 55# Fed Ex package on your doorstep when you get home from work.  You won’t have to feed him.  Thanksgiving day he ate a whole loaf of cheese bread after he devoured one of the lobsters (shell and all) that I was going to have for dinner. He also ate - well, he tore it up - the bottom tray (I thought it was metal - it wasn’t) to his crate with my husband in the other room.  If he ever learns how to open the refrigerator door, we may all go hungry.  Shall I put a big red bow around his neck?

Toni - what is Pickles weight now?  Still losing weight?

Kim - how are Violet and Lily getting along?

Luna’s so smart!  She has her brothers on “guard duty” so she knows she can snooze and they’ll wake her up if anything happens : )

Just wanted to add that I absolutely love my OBP calendar!  If anybody hasn’t gotten one, and gets the question, “What do you want for Christmas?”, the calendar would be a great answer!  Lots and lots of our own beloved puggies to smile at every day : )

Sleepy time Luna baby.  I can just see you perk up if by a rare chance you get something from the table.  My babies totally ignore mealtime.  Guess they learned a long time ago they get no table scraps.

Didn’t get OBP in my mailbox today and was getting concerned until I logged in.

Huckle, I am seriously cracking up!  You are too funny!

GG, enjoy your new companion!  I think Huckle is serious this time!

Luna…Isn’t it funny how they come back to life if they think a sibling is eating without them???

Huckle, did Cooper have any side affect from eating a whole lobster?  If he didn’t he must have an iron stomach.  I have to laugh, although not really funny, that Cooper could tear up the bottom of his crate without your husband knowing.  He must tune out everything.

Sue - I hadn’t realized Bax was a white Boxer.  That is so cool - although you probably can’t let him out when it’s snowing.

Corrine - I just love this sultry, sleepy look of Luna in this pic.  It’s now on my wall.

Well, what funny things Mr.Cooper is doing! I think I will share this with my hubby who thinks Solsie & Proto are over the top with racing through the hosue chasing each other or when Mr.Proto barks(It’s high pitched-he hasn’t gone through pup-puberty yet!)and maybe he will see what good “kids” these two little puggies are! Huckle Baxter is all white and Jasper my other boxer is brindle with four white paws and chest I don’t have to worry about snow I live in Tampa Florida but in the summer I cant let Bax stay out in the sun he will sun burn when he was a puppy he had such beautiful blue eyes but by the time he was a year old they changed to brown
Heather Baxter will drool everytime he see someone eating food then the smart cookie that he is when he drinks water he puts his whole mouth in the water bowl so he has all this water pouring off his mouth so he comes over to you and puts his head in your lap to dry his mouth off so he ends up dry and I end up soaking wet

I’m ashamed to admit…I usually “fall for the fur” and feed Rocky, Adrian, and Gulliver scraps from the table.  Scraps???  Who am I kidding?  We usually share our dinner with them.  Guess that’s why I usually have two, four or six front pug paws on my leg at all times while dining.  There…I’ve said it. I’m guilty, I’m weak, I know it. Now fess up.  How many of you out there cave when you see those sweet little “starving” faces staring up at you at mealtimes?

Karen B.

12/02/2010

Oh, Patty B…Thank you for your confession!  I was afraid to admit that I also am weak and feel the need to feed!  It’s just a little character flaw though, right?  It doesn’t mean we’re BAD people!!  LOL!

Little Luna looks all worn out. Poor baby girl..come to Grannie and I will rub your tummie with my toes and wrap a soft pink blankie arond you.

Oh My…what a bad Grannie I am! I donot feed the gals table scraps…I cook chicken or turkey breast in the micro and cut it into treat bite sizes.
