The Setup

Luna and Henry

We held a mini swim camp over the weekend and as I was setting things up I started to feel like the pugs were small children.

Lifevests

First we have to dig out their life vests so they will be safe.

Pool toys

Then we have to get out all their pool toys so they have something to play with. And once all the pool toys are out, we have to watch them all fight for the same toy. I wouldn't know from first hand experience, but sounds like kids to me wink

Swim camp pics to hopefully follow later in the week!

Corrine, the pugs ARE small children.  The only difference is you don’t have to send them to school and you don’t have to buy an extensive wardrobe, except for what you WANT to buy them.

Looking forward to the swim camp pictures.

I agree, totally like having kids (I wouldn’t know from 1st hand either, but…).  Whenever the boys and I go anywhere for an overnight or extended visit, you should see the bags I lug…you would think I had 10 kids with what I haul.

So excited for swim camp posts!!  I just love how Looney looks like she’s giggling in today’s pic…Kisses to all of the gang!

Yup, a lot like kids.  One difference, is the first picture would definately be accompanied with the loud complaint, “Mom!  He’s touching me!”

I just love swim camp and all the pictures!  I can’t wait!

I don’t have kids, either, but any time we take our 4 anywhere we always take more stuff for them than we do for us ... strollers, toys, clothes, treats, water, blankets, wet wipes ... and that is just for a day trip! I love my forever toddlers!!!

Swim camp sounds like a lot of fun!

Pugs are like children except they are quiet. Whenever I’m having a “moment” when my human kids are misbehaving…I look at my quiet pug and sigh. *sigh*

Can’t wait for swim camp photos!!!

Last night our neighborhood swimming pool had their doggie dip and there only two pugs there but one of them reminded me of Luna. So sweet.

Pug Hugs to all from Gina and Pip.

What a fun entry for today.  Martha, “he’s touching me,” perfect.

We had quite a rough weekend, relationship-wise.  But you have to know that to see why I did what I did.  My husband was walking through the family room, I had some store-bought cookies on the table next to me.  Being the humanitarian I am, I asked him if he wanted one.  He took two.

He couldn’t have thought I made them, they were obviously mass produced.  So when I asked him how he licked them, he said they were GOOD.  I have an evil little person inside of me and thought certainly they couldn’t have been all that good.  But, he has sealed his fate at that moment of untruth when he said they were good.  I let him finish them - a wife imposed liar’s fate.  I looked him straight in the face as he sat down and asked him if he’d like some milk to go with the DOG cookies.  His reaction, priceless. The pugs, of course, really wanted their share and thought enough already with giving their cookies away.

I love the swim camp !!! They are most fortunate little pugs,
I have 3 children all grown and now I keep my grandsons from time to time. But at night when my hubby and I are alone with the dogs, we’re glad that part of our life is over.(raising kids) Our dogs love watching tv with us and they don’t complain about what we watch. They never gripe about I cook either. And they are always glad to see us.

Huckle, you are a scamp.  I don’t even want to know what hubby said, but I can imagine the expression on his face.

Hey, if I tell you guys that kind of stuff, just think of the things I don’t tell!

Just got back from the vet a little while ago.  Georgie has a collapsing trachea and is on Aminophylline twice a day.  Over the weekend he sounded like a flock of geese flying.  This is a bronchodilator for the next month, depending on how he reacts to the med this week.

It was so scary to hear him honking every five minutes or so, but today he has been really settled down in that area.  I know you all will send your best wishes, but I get really mad when I think of what his breeder passed on to other pugs by his own greed.  I don’t know this for sure but it didn’t stop him from using Georgie as a stud dog (and Gracie as a mother) and he didn’t care what he was passing on.  This can be hereditary and back yard breeders (which is where I think Georgie and Gracie came from) are vile!  The good thing about the vet visit, though, is that he’s (Georgie, not the vet)lost two pounds.  The vet was very happy and said that is really a positive thing for him right now with this problem.

Pug hugs,
Huckle chuckles

Huckle, prayers and thoughts headed your way for sweet Georgie.  Congrats on the loss of two pounds too, no easy feat!  I hope he gets relief for his “honking” ASAP and that no further complications arise!!

I know, right?  I want to hear the stories you DON’T tell Huckle!

Poor Georgie, these breathing problems in these little guys just suck wind!  And no, the backyard breeders don’t care and they should all be shot for their greed.  I think they will one day answer for their greed…C.J. has had breathing problems since we got him, I have literally thousands tied up in this little love trying to “fix” him!

And Cooper, you keep on keepin’ on!

Huckle, I am so sorry.  He must be miserable.  Prayers being sent up for him feeling much better much sooner than later.  Another baby to add to my prayer list.

Puppy millers and backyard breeders are the worst.  Last year Kansas City, Missouri passed a law to protect puppy mill dogs.  Breeders protested loud and long because of the added work and expense, and I am sure the backyard breeders were at the head of the line.  Some stupid politician reversed it…aarrrggghhh.  We, the people, apparently no longer count.

Huckle so sorry to hear about Georgies breathing problems hope the meds help him sending prayers and good thoughts I think back yard breeders and all puppy mills should be stopped all they are is greedy people

Gina, where’d you get a quiet pug??? Mine are both as LOUD as toddlers! If I’m on the phone you can bet the two of them will start rough-housing, which always involves lots of whining and barking at each other and usually between my feet. Whenever anyone comes to the door Pen barks and yelps and Lucy screams (literally-screams-you’ve never heard anything like it!) And during dinner we have constant snorting and huffing because we’re not sharing! They are definitely louder than my human kid was when he was little!

Karen B.

Lucy and Pen sound like they are similar to C.J. and Toeby-they are always loud!! Toeby has this little howl-scream he does when he is waiting to eat, when it’s time to go out and whenever anything else happens, come to think of it!

Huckle! You are so funny! oh my gosh! What did your husband say?! That is hilarious!!! But so sorry about Georgie! (I’m just catching up b/c I’ve been “out” with a migraine…sort of. Super long story. Haven’t been on the computer since the 8th!) I’ll keep reading. Hoping Georgie is better…and your hubby too…has he started snorting yet?

Lucy and Pen’s Mom ~ I don’t know why I said quiet? smile  I meant compared to the kids. He is loud as far as breathing and sleeping go. smile

Pug Hugs to all from Gina & Pip!
