One of the best ways to beat the heat in Florida is to play some sort of indoor game. I wish I had more time for games during the week, heck I wish I had more time for games on the weekends, but the weekends when we manage to squeeze in some sort of a game are always fun. Sometimes, it's playing pool, a lot of times it is scrabble, sometimes it is old school board games like Sorry and nights when we play pretty much anything on the wii are always a blast.
The pugs seem to prefer board and card games because they can snuggle up next to us and get some petting in between the happenings of the game. But, I think their absolute favorite indoor games are chase around the living room and fetching the mini marshmallows we shoot out of the marshmallow gun.

Benjamin knocks them off the sofa and Sol rounds them up and makes herself comfortable. With as much as the pugs use the pillows, you would think that there was a dog bed shortage around here.

Whenever Sol does something a bit different from Benjamin, Henry & Luna, I always remark that she is "old school". Of course, now that I am sitting down to write this post, I can only think of one less than flattering example, but I will share it anyway.
When the pugs go out to go potty in the yard, Benjamin, Henry & Luna all sniff out a good spot to pee and then pee on the spot they were smelling. Sol however, likes to just smell the spot and pee at the same time, so she isn't actually marking the spot she smelled.
Now perhaps this is how most pugs do things. I don't know. My survey sample is only 4 pugs, so I could be off base here, but since she does things differently than the other 3, younger pugs, I always think to myself that she is old school.
Then the scenario plays out in my head that there is a whole generation of pugs out there, like Sol, that have their own way of doing things that differs from all those young, whippersnapper pugs of today. And I am sure all the younger pugs have it so much easier nowadays than the pugs of Sol's generation. After all, their walk to the dog park isn't up hill, both ways.
Oh, the things that run through my mind while I am waiting for the pugs to go potty! Have a good weekend, everyone.

The pictures aren't the best, but I had to post them to show just how messy of an eater Luna really is. I know we have touched on the subject before, but just look at her placemat. This week's veggie was lima beans and somehow the little girl has managed to get lima beans from one end of the kitchen to the other.
