Pug Camouflage
Can you spot Luna?

Her scars actually help her blend in pretty well.

The boys don’t blend in quite as well as the little girl. But Luna isn’t surprised. Just another thing that she is the best at! ![]()

Here are a few of the shots I got the other night when I was just playing around with the pugs. It has been too hot to really do anything, so I have just been playing around with the camera hoping to capture something interesting. ![]()

I snapped this shot while in the pool. The pugs were standing by the pool’s edge and I was trying to get a shot with them looking straight down on me. To get them to look, I was blowing bubbles in the water. That really got Benny’s head turning. Looking forward to your captions in the comments!

This weekend was HOT! As soon as we would walk outside I would break a sweat and the pugs would start to pant. We swam in the pool a bit on Sunday, but going in and out of the pool wasn’t even enough to keep the pugs cool. So, the pugs happily spent most of their weekend indoors lounging about and chewing on some bones. It was most definitely a lazy summer weekend.
How about you? How was your weekend?

Both Luna and Benjamin love to snuggle with Henry. I think it is because Henry is not a wiggle worm. Once he gets comfortable he will usually stay put. Then Benjamin & Luna come join him.
Have a great weekend everyone!

I peered out my office door between my monitor screens and saw this the other afternoon. Luna, flat out, soaking up the sun and snoozing. She didn’t used to sleep like this. When we first got her, she always curled up in a little ball and cat napped. She never seemed to go into a deep sleep. Now she sprawls out and drifts off into a very sound sleep. I think she definitely picked up this from Henry. You can usually find him somewhere sprawled out looking like he doesn’t have a care in the world. Benny, he is more of a pillow kind of guy. He isn’t much for laying on the floor.

We recorded the local news on Monday night to watch a piece on how the sagging economy is causing many families to surrender their pets. One of the groups stepping up in this time of need is Central Florida Pug Rescue and they were featured in the clip.
If you pay close attention, you will notice that Benjamin does not bark whenever Ann from CFPR is talking. That is because Ann is a very good friend of Benny’s. She once baked him a whole loaf of special “Baby Benny’s Pugkin Bread” and he has never forgotten!
Kudos to CFPR for their amazing work!

Do you remember a while back when I tweeted about Benny trying to mark something out of his reach and peeing on his paw? Well, those pretty flowers in the hanging basket, just above Benny’s head in this photo, are what Benny was trying to mark when he had his little incident. Despite dirtying up his paw, Benny did not give up in trying to claim them for his own. The other morning, around 3am, Benny needed to go out to go potty. We both made our way outside and Benny attempted to mark the flowers again. In his tired stupor, Benny lifted his leg but lost his footing on the rocks which caused him to knock into the hanging pot. The pot, in turn, swung back and nearly knocked Benny off his feet. Flower pot 2, Benny 0.

I have had a lot of e-mails wondering if I could give an update on how the raffle is going. Since we have until July 31st until I draw a winner, I thought I would try my best to post an update on the total every Friday evening.
Going into the raffle, I really wasn’t sure how much we would raise. I couldn’t really decide on a goal. That being said, I am very pleased with the results so far. In just 3 days, you wonderful pug lovers have raised $433 for Compassionate Pug Rescue! Simple proof that big things can happen when we all join together!
I don’t think I can truly express how grateful and proud I am to be a part of Owned by Pugs. Owned by Pugs started as just a little website about my boys back in 2003 and it has grown into more than I could have ever imagined. Reading the comments that you leave and the e-mails that you send make my day. I can’t thank you enough for taking part in the raffle.
With a few weeks left in the raffle, I hope we can continue to add to our total. What do you think our goal should be?
Thanks again pug lovers! You rock!
