What?!? No pumpkin!
(For the record, there was pumpkin pie, but we were not silly enough to bring any of that home with us - we didn’t want Benny to have to spend the whole night obsessing about the pie. Don’t worry, we’ll make sure the pugs get some pumpkin bread this weekend.)

Usually every Thanksgiving the pugs give a list of what they are thankful for as individual pugs. But as the years pass, they start to sort of mesh into one pug (Henjaluna). They are all thankful for pumpkin bread, bowls of turkey, midday kibble, knuckle bones, rib bones, peanut butter bones, Kongs filled with peanut butter, soft toys, squeaky toys, tug toys, a yard in which to pee, poop and lounge (hopefully they aren’t referring to the same one spot), a large king size pug bed that must unfortunately be shared by 2 pug parents, long walks, short walks, a special spot on the sofa, matching beds in matching crates and an endless supply of petting.
Those are the main “things” that the pugs appreciate. But the pugs want to show their thanks for the “people” in their lives, too. The pugs are thankful for their parents, their grandparents, their aunts and uncles, their sister the cat, their friends, their neighbors up the street that offer treats at Halloween and the small child that while barely 3 years old knows not only the differences in their looks (even from afar) but also recognizes their unique personality traits. The pugs are most appreciative for those people. The pug parents are equally appreciative of those people, as well. But the pugs don’t have any concept of you, their cyber audience. They don’t really realize that they have a “following” that also know them by their uniqueness and odd pug quirks. But as bloggers and pug parents, we know. And this Thanksgiving we wanted to be sure that we thanked you all for your dedication to Owned By Pugs and to your support of pugs everywhere. From our family of pugs to yours, may you enjoy a peaceful and pug filled holiday.

The pugs are very busy getting all their Thanksgiving day preparations done. After all, there are only so many hours a day to bask in the sun. And they need to make sure their batteries are fully charged to combat the tryptophan effects from the turkey so they can be awake for dessert which should include something with pumpkin. Oh, the life of a busy pug!
Have a great Thanksgiving!

Not the best picture in the world, but two minutes earlier she was chewing this. Looking forward to your captions in the comments.

By Sunday afternoon, G-Ma, G-Pa and Aunt Cayce were all headed home. It was a wonderful visit and the pugs and Cupid were more spoiled than ever during the week.
I was missing them as soon as they left and being curled up on the couch with the pugs watching some football was just what I needed. Benjamin and Luna, however, commandeered the Redskins blanket.

This week’s flashback: One of my favorite pictures
The chilly weather recently has reminded me of some of the blustery walks we took the pugs on while in Maryland. Here is one of my favorite puppy pics of the the boys on a nice Fall day.
