They say that big things come in small packages. We find this to be quite true, as well. Little Luna is a tiny little pug but she seems to take up the most room wherever she goes. Here are the 3 of them on the outdoor dog cot. As you can see, the boys are off to one side sharing half of the cot while Luna is sprawled out and taking the whole other half herself!
This is the case at bedtime, too. It seems like Luna grows like a weed once bedtime arrives. She has been known to take up so much space that she has displaced each of her parents! Once morning comes, though, she has shrunk back down to her teeny little self, again. It’s like she takes after a werewolf or something except Luna turns from a sweet diminutive pug to a huge, mattress demanding Mastiff! By dawn, however, all is well.
Benjamin, Henry & Luna are always very interested when I make the food bowls for the week. However, it takes me quite some time to make all the bowls so sometimes the pugs get bored. Benjamin has come up with a good solution, though. He perches himself on the back of the sofa. From there he has a perfect view of all the bowls on the counter and he is perfectly comfortable.
Today is a special day here in the OBP household. We will be having visitors from far & wide in honor of Mother’s Day! G’ma will be coming from Maryland and Aunt Cayce & Uncle Mike are arriving from Arizona! It will be a nice fun weekend packed with special guests! It has been a few months since we have seen them all so the pugs are giving their tails a rest for now because they know that their tails will go into wag overdrive from all the excitement. To give our family a warm reception, the pugs thought it would be sweet to put a message on the treat jar. We think they had an ulterior motive, though: when the visitors see the treat jar with the message, they will notice the treats and of course think to give the caring & thoughtful message leaving doggies a nice piece of kibble for their kindness. Those pugs are always thinking!
The boys are very fierce tug players. Neither one of them likes to lose and they are both very intense while playing. Luna hates it when the boys play tug. Partly because they are not paying attention to her and partly because they sound so mean. Just listen to all that growling going on.
There is nothing more tempting to Benny than a nice big bowl of Cheerios with some sliced bananas. Can’t wait to read your captions. You can leave them in the comments.
Fellow Pug Blog reader Chris was very kind and nominated the Pug Blog for a Blogger’s Choice Award in the category of Best Animal Blogger. I must say I was quite surprised when I got the e-mail and very honored to have been nominated. There is some pretty stiff competition in the category, but we are very excited just to have been nominated.
So, if you enjoy reading the Pug Blog please vote for us! Thanks!
I’m not sure if you can see it in the photo, but recently there has been a haze of smoke hanging around for the last few days. The smoke is from a brush fire that is burning about 20 miles north of us and depending on which way the wind is blowing the smoke and fire smell can be pretty strong at times. So far the fire has burned 3700 acres, but luckily it is moving away from homes.
Because of all of the smoke, I have been keeping Benjamin, Henry & Luna inside as much as possible. They haven’t been too happy about that and have been begging me to let them outside so they can lay on the lounge chair. They just don’t understand that it is not good for them to be outside breathing in all that smoky air.
