A Little Bit of Relief

Benjamin & Henry at the park

I must confess, I haven’t been the best pug owner lately.  Sure the pugs have been fed and they get plenty of love and attention, but I have been totally slacking in the walk department.  The pugs are used to going for at least a 1 mile walk each night and for the last week there have been no walks.  So that means that I have 3 wired pugs on my hands!  A well exercised Benny bounces off the walls, so you can only imagine what Benny is like now.  There have been times I had to pull him off of the ceiling.

Why have the pugs missed so many of their walks, you ask?  Well, because I have been totally involved in getting the OBP calendar to the presses.  But I am happy to say that I sent the artwork to the printer yesterday and I am now awaiting the proof.  It felt good to be done and to at least have the ball in someone else’s court for an evening.

So to celebrate, we went to the park for a nice long walk.  Benjamin, Henry and Luna were so excited to go for a ride in the car and were even more excited when they realized we were going to the park.  They had a great time walking off all that pent up energy and for me it was a perfect way to celebrate the completion of the calendar.

My favorite thing about this park, other than the nice shady trails to walk on, is the water fountain there.  It is one water fountain with three drinking spots.  One for adults, one for kids, and one on the ground for dogs.  It comes in so handy and means that I don’t have to carry the bulky water bottle with us.

So rest assured the calendars will be for sale soon.  I should have them by the end of October and as soon as I get them they will be up for sale.  I can’t wait to get my hands on a printed copy.  I am very happy with how they turned out and I just hope they look as good in print and I hope you like them too!

Luna at the eye doctor's office

Here we have little Luna at the eye doctor’s office waiting for the doc.  She doesn’t know it, but she is standing on top a treat goldmine!

Luna does very good at the eye doctor’s, but if she had her choice, she would prefer if I took her to a more fun place.

Looking forward to your captions in the comments!

Bloopers #2

Where's Luna

This was supposed to be a nicely framed shot of little Luna posing in front of the Ginger in our yard.  However, the little wiggle worm exited stage left before I snapped the photo.

She is by far the worst when it comes for sitting still for her picture.  Henry is the best and is relaxed and takes direction very well.  Benny is more interested in knowing if treats are involved, but listens well.  And Luna, well, she just doesn’t listen at all!

Luna running off again

After we retrieved her and set her up again, she made another beeline towards me.  This time, at least, she is somewhere in the photo.

Good News from the Eye Doc

Luna resting after her trip to the eye doctor

Yesterday, Luna and Benjamin went to the ophthalmologist to find out more information about their latest eye woes.  We usually don’t leave the office with good news, so yesterday we were very pleased with the prognosis.

Luna does not have an ulcer.  The special drop they put in her eye so that they could better see what was going on did not show an ulcer.  That is fantastic news.  Since it is not an ulcer the doctor deduces that she has some sort of irritation that is likely being caused by one of her meds.  Our task is to find out which one.  So, when we give her her drops we need to keep a close eye out and see if any of them make her very squinty.

Benjamin got the best news of all.  The doctor does not think that he has entropy.  She thinks that the current state of his eyelids is the way they have been his whole life.  And that his teary eyes is most likely caused by seasonal allergies.  I was very happy to hear this.  The doctor still did a battery of tests to get a baseline for Benjamin and he goes back in 8 weeks for a follow-up to make sure that his eyelashes are not curling in even more.  If he gets a good report then he is all set.

So it wasn’t all fantastic news, but it sure is the best eye news I have heard in a long time.

After we got home from the eye doctor and Benjamin & Henry greeted their long last brother, Henry, they both crashed on the couch.  They were exhausted from the long car ride and the exam.

Have a fantastic weekend everyone!

Luna di Luna

Luna posing with the Luna di Luna wine

I’m not much of a wine drinker, but awhile back a friend gave me this wine bottle as a gift.  Not for me to drink, but for me to keep because of the label (knowing me so well, they gave me the bottle after they drank the wine!)  Who knew that little Luna had her very own wine!  Furthermore, the bottle is perfect for me because my favorite color is orange.  My office has a lot of orange accents so the bottle is on display and goes in my office perfectly.

So if you are ever out and run into a Luna di Luna branded bottle, have a drink for little Luna.

Nice to meet you!

Benjamin meeting the doggie mannequin

A while back, I was playing around trying to get some pictures of the Boston Red Sox Collars (which were recently featured in the August issue of Dog Fancy) for the H. Doodle store using my new doggie mannequin.  Benny was quite intrigued by the mannequin and kept jumping in my shots.  Since he is used to having the camera always pointing his direction, I think he was just trying to figure out who the new model in town was.  You got him in the looks department, Benny, but when it comes to taking direction and sitting still, he is far superior.

Luna in my suitcase

A few weeks ago, I got out the suitcases to pack for a business trip.  I plopped them on the bed and went to the closet to get my clothes and when I came back this is what I saw.  Looks like Luna doesn’t want to be forgotten!
