8 Freezing Nights

Benjamin

We had 8 consecutive nights with temperatures below freezing and the pugs were not pleased. Heck, even I wasn't pleased.

Now, I know to many of you 8 straight nights of temps in the high twenties would seem like a heat wave, but you have to be easy on us Floridians as we are delicate people when it comes to cold temps.

My favorite piece I read about our cold snap was from USA Today. To paraphrase, the paper surmised that you can throw a hurricane at Florida and we can handle it, but bring on the cold weather and it is chaos. A state of emergency had to be declared to save the citrus crops, stores couldn't keep gloves, scarves & space heaters in stock and iguanas started to fall out of their trees. And that article didn't even account for the effect the cold temps were having on the pugs grin

The pugs mainly spent their days & nights sleeping. They didn't even wake up for breakfast until 6:45 AM on a few days because they didn't want to have to go out and go potty in the freezing cold.

Fortunately, it looks like our normal winter weather is returning. We will be hitting our normal 70 degree mark during the days today and tomorrow. Plus, the temps will remain in the 50's and 60's during the evenings. Now that is more like it.

Have a great weekend, everyone!

Henry looks so pensive and sad; like “Woe is me!” while Benjamin is just like “Wake me up when it’s warm, darn it!”

Luna & Solsey both seem oblivous.  Too adorable!

Ahhh to bask in the sun! I can’t believe USA left out the most important part-the pugs of Florida suffering!!! Beauty enjoyed a bask in the sun-she sits with her belly exposed-it’s a hoot! Pictures? My track record isn’t too good, so just imagine! Have a great week-end! Pug-hugs from the Colorado 3

Romeo understands completely.  While winters are cold in Kansas, we have not had below zero temps and all this snow for quite a number of years.  He absolutely did NOT want to go out, and was out and back in within 30 seconds to 1 minute.  When it finally warmed up to 20 we did think we had a heat wave going. Now that temps are warming up again into the 30’s and 40’s, snow is melting and I have been able to clean the deck and Romeo has been able to go back into the yard.  Happy weekend to all.

I love Henry’s expression. They are all too cute, but Henry I feel like you many mornings! Enjoy the heat wave! Sadie wishes the snow would be either be solidly frozen so she could walk on it without sinking in or completely gone! I’m not looking forward to muddy paws come spring. Have a great weekend.

Pugs are born for love, play and comfort!  And for your Sunshine State pugs, comfort means warm/hot temps!  Glad the state of emergency is coming to an end, and they can get back to their normal activities : )

The puggies were just taking full advantage of that hibernation weather! Olive is so glad it’s not that cold here in Seattle. Just wet, wet, wet!

no puggie likes to be cold.  I have a quilted vest that I put on Mr. Skittles everytime we go out.  We have snow, and it seems like it is here to stay for a while **sigh**  We have had temp in the -9 celcius, with windchills of -15 brrrr
Needsless to say, we don’t like to go out too often!!
Stay warm all puggies out there!  Have a good weekend everyone!

I hope it’s nice & warm in Florida now!  Just got back from walt disney world on 1/14.  It was in the 30’s for most of the week there.  Yikes I have never felt it so cold in Orlando! So sad for those poor pugs to say nothing for the oranges and tropical plants!
