Hmmm, not the usual meal, however, being the adventurous type, I will gladly sample it. Got any garlic toast to go with it?
How about a nice glass of Chianti?

A feast fit for a Princess!!

Well all, not sure where to begin.  I’ll try and keep it short.  As I think I mentioned yesterday, Riley’s right ear canal is severly damaged.  The neuro thinks with about 80% certainty that it is due to infection.  He is starting a 6 month treatment of a few meds and the hope is that he will respond favorably.  If he does, we can be assured it was infection.

Now the hard part for me…there is a small chance that it is more than infection and that it is a malignancy (I refuse to type the T word).  If that were to be the case (which I have to believe it’s not), there would be nothing we could do.  The T’s that grow in the ear canal are not treatable and I will most certainly not type the “f” word.

They weren’t able to get a biopsy through the ear canal because it is just too small.  The neuro does not recommend doing the “major surgical procedure” to get one because the only thing it would do is tell us something bad and it would provide no therapeutic value to Ri b/c, God forbid, if they did find it was the T, there would be no course of action.

So he wants us to stick with treating the infection and going from there.  I had a breakdown already, but now I just need to pray and believe that my lil’ boy will respond to the meds and that we will *not* face the worst.

I guess this isn’t short…I’m sorry.  Thank you all for your love, support, and prayers.  It means the world to us and I tell Riley every day how many friends he has sending healing vibes his way!

Love, Heather and Riley…and Baxter too of course!!

Heather, I know you and Riley have a long road ahead, and you will continue to be on my prayer list.  You have to be strong for Riley and I know with your love and support you will get through this.  Hugs to Riley and your family.

Heather, I hope the meds help Riley tremendously, and that the doctor’s 80% odds are correct!  Riley and his family will keep getting our prayers and supportive good thoughts!

And as for Sol’s picture, the second I saw it, I started hearing Dean Martin singing “Amore”!  Do you think Solsey would enjoy a little Dean for some dinner music?

This picture of Sol reminds me of the old stills of Lady and the Tramp and the two of them sharing a spaghetti noodle. grin
Heather, you and Riley are certainly in my thoughts and prayers. These little four legged “kids” of ours sure provide us with so much love and laughter.

Question for OBP: do you cut up the sghetti?  or do you let them slurp it up?  Seems like that would be a terrible mess.  I love pasta, just not sghetti (yeah, I know: weird!), so Sleighbelle loves her penne pasta, she has not experienced the sghetti factor!

Heather and Riley, trust in your vet: he’s seen these things before and 80% certainty is a high percentage.  Give little Riley extra love (and a few extra treats) and 6 months of meds will fly by.

I say, Mom, Could you just set the bowl on the floor and let me at the spaghetti.  I am ready to slurp it down and I don’t need any help, please.  Thanks, Mom.  You’re a Gem.

Heather and all with Puggies Under the Weather.  God Bless you all and your little Pugs, Riley and all Puggies everywhere.  They are little loves and I tell my little Cooper every day how much I love him.  He makes me smile and sometimes just crack up laughing.  He has certainly brought JOY into my life.  I agree with all the wonderful sentiments already given and I like that someone said give Riley an extra treat and extra LOVE and the 6 months on meds will fly by. You know how time flies,  My baby, Cooper, will be one year old on January 10, 2010.  Next he goes to the Vet to be neutered.  He is a good little boy and we love him.  Prayers for Riley and all Puggies everywhere, and their Moms and Dads too.
