Homegrown

Over the weekend, we picked our first sweet potato from the garden. It was the first time we ever tried our hand at growing sweet potatoes and we were pleasantly surprised to find a potato growing under the dirt. When we planted the plants, I was kinda thinking we weren't going to have much luck.

So, now that we have this sweet potato, I need to find something to do with it. I thought about putting it in a soup I make, but I don't have any of the soup's other ingredients on hand. We need to make more food for the pugs tonight so I think I will bake it in the oven and add it to the pugs food. They love sweet potatoes and I am sure they would love to be the first tasters of the homegrown sweet potato.

Hellen, you are funny.

Honestly, the pugs will really think they are given a big treat.  Fresh is always better than canned.  Of course, we want pictures or video of them digging into their fresh sweet potato food.

Sue, I am so happy to hear Abby is doing her puggy dance again.  That definitely means she is doing better, and your hard work is paying off, also in four months that little leg will be good as new.  Yay Abby.

Sue - Ahhh, the happy dance girl is back.  Wonderful, wonderful news.  Wow, though - 3-4 months before the muscle starts to build?  That’s a big commitment and a lot of hard work. We’ll keep you going!

Anybody see a pig facing forward in the sweet potato?  I hadn’t thought of sweet potatoes for the Pugs but now I’ll have to try it.
