Ms. Manners

I recorded Sol last night as I was feeding the pugs and I think I am going to video tape all of the pug feedings from now on.  At least the early morning feedings.  With the camera rolling, it was like Sol knew that a video of her acting all crazy was going to end up on the Internet and so she decided to be on her best behavior.  She did break down a bit in the middle, but let me tell you, those barks are nothing like what she normally does.  She is usually way more passionate and the noises she makes in no way resemble barking.

While this isn’t her oscar performance, you still might want to check the sound if you are watching this while at work.  Any co-worker within a 300 yard radius is going to be able to hear the squeals on this video.

I love the video!  Sol is so precious.  I for one love a girl who’s not afraid to show her enthusiasm to eat!  I saw that little Luna was pretty excited too.  Great video.  I wish my puggers were that calm at feeding time!  It’s pure chaos here smile

Oh darn, guess I should wait to watch this at home…don’t want to get the troops wondering why Heather has strange squeals coming from her cube.  LOL Sol, can’t wait to see your performance!!!

Isn’t it always the case?  When you want them to do something they won’t.  That was pretty tame, and believe me a lot tamer than my Romeo.  He doesn’t screech, but he barks and jumps until he gets fed. Ms. Sol and Ms. Luna both seem to be excited about getting their food.  Bless ‘em.

“Doing Now”.  Since Sol won’t eat bananas, does she get something else instead?

My little black Lucy doesn’t speak up much when meals are being assembled, but when she does—watch out!  She has a positively head-splitting yip which we think was a survival tactic developed in the wild to bring down an opponent!  Opal’s a dancing barker, Uma’s a barker, and Daphne, usually the noisiest of the bunch, just sits there, eying my every move.  Total chaos!  Love your babies!

Love, love, love the video!  Maybe Sol feels she’s “cheering” you along with encouraging barks.  And her spin-moves are worthy of Dancing with the Stars.

I did notice her eyeing the camera a few times, so she was definately aware of it.

And BTW, heed the warning about watching this at work!  LOL I’m at home and the sound roused Bennie from a sound sleep and he searched around for the “other pug” in our house.

SO CUTE!!!!!!! You know what’s funny? None of my pugs bark or vocalize much at all.

This is great!  The twirling is so Sleighbelle…she has banged into the cabinets many times.  But the barking/yapping?  That is all Birdy!  I think it must be something with them being deaf…her yapping was very high-pitched like Sol’s.  There is nothing better than a pug at meal time…

C.J. and Toeby are both barkers and spinners.  C.J. also feels the need to jump up on anything and everything including the food bin and my poor pug-bruised legs!  Is the spinning a pug thing?  I don’t remember ever seeing another breed do that.

Can I pop a question?

How do you keep the pugs noses so clean and nice?
Louises nose is always dried out.

I keep cleaning with moisterizing towels, or even a big dot of Nivea!

but it keeps looking unhealthy like the skin is dried out and “broken”

I’d definitely check with the vet cuz there may be some other disease going on.  I’ve never had to do “nose maintenance” on either of my guys except for the standard wrinkle cleaning so do check with your vet.  On another note, I did have a german shepherd that had discoid lupus which affected his mucous membranes meaning his nose and eyes.  Not saying that’s what it is and not trying to scare you, but please get it checked!

Louise…we use Vasoline on Baxter’s nose that is “crustier” than his brother’s…always helps.

Thank you for posting. I just played that and Brutus and Miley are all scammering about trying to figure out what that sound was! HA HA. I love Luna running around and even seeing a little bit of cupid.

OK, so the boys are currently running around the house barking till their hearts content trying to find the other puggie that was making so much noise…

Oh Corrine, Sol just glows now…how incredibly fabulous to have witnessed her transformation…thank you.

Funny girl, Sol…You have two boyfriends over here that will let you “call the waiter” over!

Birdy LOVED bananas and would eat a whole one if I let her.  Sleighbelle?  yeah, not happening!  But…mommy’s are smarter (sometimes) and I’ll take some ‘naner and mash it into her food and she scarfs it down and I don’t even think she knows she’s eating it.  I think it is the texture she doesn’t like.  She sometimes will take a piece into her mouth and then spit it out, all the while having a look on her face like “Yikes, what was that thing in my mouth?” it’s very funny!!!
