Benjamin and Simba

Remember Simba? Well, not only does Simba visit us on walks he also makes house calls. Every so often when we are hanging out outside, Simba comes strutting over.

Benjamin and Simba

Benjamin is fascinated by Simba. He is still shocked that there is a cat in this world that likes him. Henry and Luna have gotten used to Simba and pretty much ignore him when he comes to visit.

Cupid

And Cupid? Cupid is definitely not happy when Simba comes calling. She stares him down and gives him her best Calico attitude. Although, even though she would never admit it, she doesn't get nearly as worked up as she used to. I think even she is getting used to having Simba around.

This is adorable!!  Ben looks sooo happy to have his feline friend over…1st pic is like, “Hey mom, look who came over, it’s Simba!” and the second, “Simba, hey wait…don’t leave yet, the fun’s just started!”  Cupid says, “Simba, these are MY pugs and MY people, take a hike!”

Awwwww…love fury friends!

Cats can be so unkind to sweet little pugs wanting to make nice.  Bella has been sucker-swatted on more than one occasion by this pretty-faced black cat who sometimes follows us on our early morning potty-walks.  I’m sad to say she’s no longer the “hail-fellow-well-met” gal she once was, but thrice-burned after all.
Years ago when I had a gorgeous grey tomcat (ToMas) who patrolled our block, there was a pure white cat named TAZ (tazmanian devil) living on the adjoining block of our neighborhood.  They would sit on the corners of their respective “hoods” and have staredowns w/each other.  Yet, despite his tough-guy persona, he was much more of a cuddle-buddy than Bella.  But she IS a pug, after-all - and pugs can be forgiven anything, just because they’re pugs, yes?

Yes Mary! I agree! I love the reference to their respective “hoods”. So funny.

In that first picture it looks like Benny was saying ‘Hey Mom, come take our picture!”  Looks great.

Hang in there Cupid. You are still the #1 feline to those puggers!

Corrine ~ are you guys being affected by the hurricane/tropical storm? I hope not. Been thinking of ya and the puggers! (Cupid too.)

Pug Hugs to all from Gina & Pip

Would Benjamin and Simba every play?  Since Cupid doesn’t like Benjamin, I’m sure he likes the fact that Simba does.

Love the blog and the comments.

I think something else is going on here.  Simba’s spent some time observing how this household works and has decided it’s time for her to be Owned by Pugs, too!!!

Sue, I hope Abby improves fast : )

I love the way Cupid is staring down Simba, annoyed that she would dare come onto Cupid’s property.  So typical cat.  It’s so great that Benny now has his own cat.  Wonder what Simba is thinking…..

sue, sorry to hear Abby is under the weather.  Life is pretty good until one of our babies gets sick. Our concentration and nervousness is felt in every breath we take then until the illness goes away.  Wishing a swift healing for precious Abby.

Speaking of an Abby, mine has been (this is indelicate) pooping yellow for the past several days.  I don’t know whether to be concerned or not.  Have any of you had that experience?

sue, hope there is a quick solution to your Abby.  All of you are in my prayers.  Please keep us posted.

Huckle, I would at least call your vet and inquire about Abby’s yellow poop. In all my years that is something I have never run across.  Huckle, please keep us posted on your Abby.

Martha, love your post!

Huckle, have never had the yellow poopie issue.  I agree with Sue VDB to give the vet a jingle and see what they say.  Prayers up for all the Abby’s (and all my OBP friends…every day!)!!!

Huckle:  I just googled “yellow poop in dogs”.  It says it can mean an infection/irritation called Giardia - or an inflammation of the pancreas (pancreatitis).  Not to cause you undue alarm - but I think calling your vet would be a good idea.

(sometimes the hypochondriac in me isn’t best served by having Google at my fingertips, however.)

Thank you all, I will call the vet.  We’ve been the giardia route before but not with Abby and not yellow poop.  I think that was the one that happened because of eating baby rabbits.  (Sorry guys, I know that sounds just awful.)  This yellow this round was really yellow. like a crayon actually.  I’m waiting for it to appear today so that I can give the vet a ring.  Thanks Mary, and all.

Lmao Mary!, i thought i was the Google Queen!  Prayers for all the unwell little puggers!

Lilo would love to make friends with the neighbours cats, but the one either bit or scratched at me years ago before Lilo. She’s just so curious about them.

Gina - Luckily, Irene has not had much of an impact on us.  It looks like it going to stay off the coast and we are only going to get some rain from it.  I hope those in the mid atlantic are as lucky as us.

Thinking of Abby and Abbey.  I hope they are on the road to recovery.

Good to hear Corrine. Keep yourself and your puggers (and Cupid too) safe and dry. smile

Corrine, last night I googled how far away you are from Palm Beachy as there was report of some damage, and found you are probably out of harm’s way, maybe some rain.  Glad you are safe.

Huckle

Corrine - I wiki’d Port Orange and was hoping that you were on the west coast.  It does look today (Friday) that Irene is taking her temper up the eastern seaborad and that you are ok.  Phew.  So glad for you at least.  What would you do if you had to evacuate?
