This is a picture of Henry with one of the new bones the pugs got the other night as a treat. Henry had been chewing the bone for a good hour at least and in this picture he is done chewing and ready for a little nap. However, he doesn't want Benjamin or Luna to get his bone, so he just sits with it in his mouth. He must have sat there for 15 minutes or more before his eyelids finally got too heavy. The joys of siblings.

In keeping with yesterday's theme of snuggle pictures from the archives, here is a shot of Henry and Luna from November 2009. Again, "Wow! Look how dark Luna's face is!" My second thought on this one is, "Look how clean the puff pillow is!"
Knowing how much Luna loves her puff pillow, this picture just cracks me up. Luna is clearly sulking and is trying her best to make Henry get out of her puff pillow.

As hot as it has been recently, the shade is a nice place to be. Even Henry, a true sun lover, has been hanging out in the shade lately.

We needed to make a run to the pet store last week to pick up some food for Cupid. Henry was a little fired up that night so I thought I would bring him. He had a blast in the car on the way there and he was loving life going up and down the aisles at the pet store. Ironically, he was most interested in the fish stuff.

After I pried him away from the fish display, we rounded up some cat food for Cupid and then made a stop in the dog bone aisle so Henry could pick out some bones for himself and his brother and sister. After some debate, Henry selected bacon and roast beef flavored edibles. I thought it was an interesting choice because the boys have not had those types of bones since they were pups.
Once we got back home, I gave the pugs the bones that Henry selected. Henry was of course happy with his choice and Benjamin was also pleased with Henry's selection. Luna, however, was not so happy with Henry's choice. In fact, she passed it right up and took a nap on the couch instead. So, this meant that Henry had a second bone for himself. Coincidence or good thinking on Henry's part?
On a different note, if you are in the FL area and you are interested in fostering pugs get in touch with Central Florida Pug Rescue. They have a lot of pugs in their care right now and are very much in need of foster homes.

Benjamin and Luna love to hug up to Henry. Sometimes I feel bad for Henry because he almost never gets a moment to himself. But he never seems to mind when Benny and Luna come to lay with him. He's a good boy that way.
I hope you have a great weekend and enjoy some snuggle time with your pug.

Swimming for Henry means rescuing all of his toys from the pool. He has a set of water toys that float and are easy fro him to grab out of the water. After he gets his vest on, we throw all his water toys into the pool at the opposite end of the steps.
When he is ready, he goes to the first step in the pool and then jumps into the water to swim and rescue one of his toys. After he snags one of his toys from the water he swims back to the step with it and takes it out of the pool.

He will then mill around a bit on the pool deck, taking a break from his lap, and when he is ready he will jump back in the pool and rescue another one of his toys.
While it is fun to watch Henry, from the pictures you get a great idea of how Benjamin and Luna feel about Henry jumping into the pool. It makes them a nervous wreck! Plus, Benny always grabs the freshly rescued toy from Henry when he brings it out of the pool.

On Saturday the pugs went swimming for the first time this season. When the pugs go swimming for any length of time we put their life jackets on them. Having their life jackets on really improves their swimming.
We usually put their vests on poolside, but we were out in the yard, so we just suited them up out there. Henry was dilly dallying around in the yard and did not come in with us using the regular, human, door so he had to use the doggie door. Well, with his vest on he no longer fit through the doggie door. That will teach him not to be last.
