7 Day Weekend
The humans of the house had to return to work today, but the pugs carried on like it was still the weekend.

Luna got to go on a field trip to the eye vet last week for a re-check of the obstructed gland in her eyelid. I was feeling fairly confident that they would not have to drain the gland because it had greatly reduced in size since we started her on the prescribed medication. However, the bump was not 100% gone so I was unsure what they were going to say about that.
Luna's eye doc was pleased with Luna's progress and suggested that we up the NeoPolyDex drops that she gets in that eye from every other day to twice a day. Easy enough. We will do that and in 4-5 weeks Luna gets to go back to see how things are doing.
The only difficult thing has been remembering the new drop schedule. Luna has been on her current schedule for a little over a year now so breaking our routine has been a bit tricky.
Here is Luna's new drop schedule:

No matter how hard I try to be a morning person, there is nothing better than catching a few extra hours of sleep on the weekends. Lucky for me the pugs feel the same way.

I think he is still upset after loosing that blueberry biscuit in the pool yesterday. It might take awhile, but hopefully he will be able to get over it
Have a good weekend everyone!

I have been trying for awhile to get a few shots of the pugs catching treats that are tossed to them. To make it possible we had to change from Cheerios to a larger treat that would show up a bit better in mid air. So we opted for blueberry flavored dog biscuits. Something a bit bigger would have worked even better, but if you look close you can see the treats flying through the air.
The pictures of the treats the boys caught were OK, but the interesting shots were their near misses. First up is Benjamin taking one on the chin.
The toss is up. Benjamin is intently focused on the treat which is the light brown spot highlighted by the green tree background and just above the white bar.
But something went awry. Did Luna's wiggling tail cause Benny to take his eye of the treat? It doesn't much matter, the treat bounces of Benny's chin. You can see the treat as it falls to the ground.
The treat takes a couple of bounces and ends up between Luna's hind legs. Watch out little girl you are about to be up ended.
Next up is Henry and his miss was quite amusing.
The toss is good and it looks like Henry is in a good position to make the catch.
But wait, what happened! The treat bounces out of Henry's mouth at the last minute and you can see it falling to the ground.
Nooooo! Come here tasty treat!
And then the worst possible thing that could happen happens. The treat rolls into the pool. Not knowing what to do the pugs start pacing around the edge of the pool devastated that their treat has met a soggy demise.

I think Sol has adjusted to life with us pretty well so far. In her short time with us, she has already mastered the Princess & the Pea sleeping technique.
I think it is safe to say that she has made herself right at home. We couldn't be more thrilled.
