Got A Boat?

Sol

When Sol first came to us she didn’t seem so pampered, but now that she has been here a while she has quickly gained a serious sense of entitlement.  For example, she is seen here wearing a raincoat.  This was our vain attempt to help keep her a little bit dry in the continous down pours we have been experiencing over the last couple days.  However, while wearing the raincoat, she did not move once outside.  Instead, she insisted on a more appropriate form of accommodation.  A yacht pehaps, Sol?  We ended up taking off the slicker and toweling her dry once again but she seemed extremely displeased with the whole rain event we are in the midst of.  Poor Sol.  Rags to riches to slightly damp.  Poor poor Solsey Baby.

LOVE this post, Corrine…Giggling over here with the notion of Sol needing her yacht…

At least you looked fabulous in your slicker Miss Sol…even if it didn’t see a drop of rain…hehehehehehehe…

Too funny!  I can see the look of displeasure on her cute little face smile  Poor baby girl!!  Once pampered, always pampered!

We are having that same problem here, all but 1 of my pugs hates going out in the rain.  After 3 straight days of rain, they are very displeased too!

I know that rags to riches story all to well.  That is what happened when i got coco at 6 weeks. They all but threw her out the door to me. And i told her she would have the life of riches and she does. I love sol. I love reading about her and seeing her picture. I love the others too. But she is very special. thank goodness she found you!!!

Sol you remind me of a very oldtime movie-“orphan of the storm” that starred Lillian Gish-now you have the “starring Role”- You are looking like a real drama queen in this pic! Still as cute as ever!Pugs & Kisses to you sweet lady!

What a look! “You’re not serious. You really expect me to be seen in public like this??? I’m not putting a foot outside that door until you take this ridiculous thing off me.”
Lucy hated her raincoat too. When we put it on her she would just go out and roll in the grass trying to get it off. So she’d end up soaking wet anyway. We finally gave up and gave it away.
Is it a pug thing that they won’t go out to potty in the rain? Lucy doesn’t even want to go out if it’s quit raining but the streets are still wet (she’s with Luna-NO WET PAWS!)

Seriously mom?  Really?  You want me to meet my adoring public looking like a traffic cone?  Could you not just crawl on your knees, holding an umbrella over my head as I take care of my delicate “outside issues”?

Solsey you have turned out to b quite the little diva.  The rain coat would keep you oh so much drier, but if you won’t move, you won’t move.  I really can’t blame you for not wanting to get rained on.  I wouldn’t like it if I had to go out in the rain to potty either.  Hope the rain lets up soon so you can enjoy outdoors again.  My doggies hate the rain too and if I make them go out they find a little strip on the deck to go.  Better to clean that up than in the house.

Where to start with what I love about this post?  First, with Sol’s disgruntled expression as she stoically stands firm in her dreaded slicker.

Second, Sue’s reference to Lillian Gish!  Looooong ago our milkman teased my mom and aunt by calling them the Gish sisters!  I enjoyed being reminded of that!

Sol was just not wanting to mess her hair up in the rain.  You know how we girls are!  (My hair frizzes to a complete fuzzball.)

Hahaha. Wet paws are my Klaus’s kryptonite too! And his highness will not BUDGE if I dare to embarrass him by dressing him in a raincoat or fleece, or put anything on his paws. Sadly, I AM that pug mama holding the umbrella over her babies’ heads. I do it for my new rescue now, too—3 months in, and she’s already a princess.

Poor Sol! Indy can relate, we once stood outside for half an hour in the rain with Indy wearing her pink rain coat because she refused to pee and i refused to cave. I finally did and she pee’d right away the little bugger. smile

I am laughing hysterically at the posts!!
I love each & every one of them!!  My guys not too fussy for going out in the rain, but loves water, jumps into the bathtub for his bath, and if he jumps in when some one is in the shower, he gets into the spray, but then it is warmer than rain!!
Love their personalities!!

Aww…little Miss Sol is SO adorable!! I love the photo, her little expression, the crooked mangled look of her cheery raincoat…it’s just too much. Sol is SO precious!

Has anyone tried a pet “dog” umbrella that attaches to the collar? It might not work, but it sure is cute!

Living in NY near Niagara Falls, Sol reminds me of someone ready to ride the Maid of the Mist - a boat ride that goes near the bottom of the falls, and people wear these rain slickers, so they don’t get soaked.
Sol - I would ride the Maid of the Mist with you any day - and so would our pug Cooper!!!

Why does this post make we want to sing…

Sol, Row, Row your boat
Gentle gently Down the stream
Merrily merrily LIfe is but a dream

I’m sure that our Pugs think that because they’re so sweet they MUST be made of sugar, and we all know what happens when sugar meets water (Pug vs. rain)!!!
Hense the reason that puggies don’t like the rain :-D

Renee that’s hysterical - I’m from the Buffalo area also and I know EXACTLY what you’re talking about!!  Miss Sol totally looks like she’s ready to ride the Maid of the Mist - or maybe visit The Cave of the Winds???

Martha

Yep, Maid of the Mist it is!  (That’s where we went on our honeymoon!)  Glad you figured it out Renee.

Not gonna lie; before I read the post, I thought “Now why on EARTH is Sol wearing a garbage bag?!”  Then all became clear.

Sol, you are a dashing pug! If you lived closer, Otis would be all over your cute little face with smooches smile

Mary M - Where in the Buffalo area are you located?  I’m in Williamsville - maybe we can get our pugs together for a “playdate”!!!
