Hers

Cupid

Remember when Cupid claimed the new dog as her own? She really seemed to like the bed, but I thought to myself, this will never last. She has never really been a dog bed sleeper. Instead she prefers to cuddle up in baskets or pretty much anything with sides.

Well, I couldn't have been more wrong. It has been a few months since we bought the dog bed and Cupid sleeps in it every day. In fact, if she is sleeping you can pretty much bet that she is in the dog bed.

The pugs have used the bed a few times, but for the most part they stay out of it.

The poor pugs! Since we don't have very many dog beds around here, they don't have any place to sleep! wink

Well, that first photo is the strangest looking pug ever!  I think since there is such a shortage of pug beds around, you need to go on a shopping trip.  Get those babies a proper sleep arrangement!

It looks like Benny is saying: Awwwww!  Mommy!  Look at Luna!  That kitty cat is going to bust her!  Let that Cupid cat know not to confuse us and bap me on the head instead of my sister!

I think any dog-bed companies out there should contact you and ask if your household will do product testing for them!  Maybe you could get signed up as an official dog-bed spokes-family!

“Pug tested and pug approved!”

Cupid - what is it with all these beds around this house?  I wonder if there is anything to them.  Think I’ll try this new one…hmmm, not bad, not bad at all.  Let me take a little snooze and test it.

Later - that was a nice sleep, think I’ll keep this one.  After all, these three dogssss have plenty more and I deserve it.  Ok dogssss, I am claiming this one, you can have all the others.

Corrine, I am soooo sorry that the pugs have no place to sleep…Perhaps we could take up a collectionand buy the “homeless” pugs a bed or two…LOL!

Cupid is like any other cat…You just kind of work around them!  She is so pretty on that bed though, it was made for her!

It seems that the concept of “hers” or the “dogs” doesn’t apply in my house either, when Abby and I go to grandma’s for a sleepover, Abby’s big cushy bed almost always gets claimed by gma’s dog Tessa or else one of the cats.  Abby is more than happy to share, but definitely not at the same time-LOL!!

I think most kitties have a mind of there own and Cupid has decided this is her bed she looks so comfy on it guess you will have to get another doggie bed for the pugs Luna looks so cute snoozing away

Too cute!  Maya, our tabby cat, used to think she was a dog.  She would even play fetch with her toys!  We can see who really rules the pug house with that first picture!

On a side note, Corrine, where did everyone get his/her name in OBP land?  Just something I was thinking about today.

The look in Cupid’s eyes seem to say “don’t mess with me, sister”.

Maybe you could show Cupid the picture of her siblings on the bed and make her feel guilty…opps, forgot.  She’s a cat.  Guilty?  Not a chance.  Insecure?  Yeah, right.  Unhappy?  That’s for everyone else especially if she’s the source of it.  CATS RULE, PUGS DROOL.

Darci - That’s an interesting question and it would be fun to hear the answers.  I’ll bet some are really creative.  But, I don’t want to go first.

I’ll go first on the name thing-

C.J. stands for Christopher Jacqueline, after my son and daughter in law…They picked him out and delivered him as a birthday gift to me!

Toeby is bacause when he was an infant, he had a true love of biting toes!  I even bought him a rubber foot but he preferred the human kind…

Karen - That was a creative naming.  Your son and dil must have had a great time getting CJ and then giving him to you.  Had you been wanting a dog or was this a complete surprise?

Abby was just Abby because I liked the name and there was finely another female in the family (I had the “pleasure” of raising four boys.)

Georgie’s and Gracy’s names came from my best friend when I couldn’t think of any names.  She suggested “George” and I thought, “oh I don’t like that.”  Then she explained I could call them Georgie and Gracie for George Burns and Gracie Allen.  And then I liked that.

Cooper2 was named that because of Cooper1, who came from the rescue with that name.  Not exactly creative but my husband thought we shouldn’t change a name he’d had for so long.

Who’s next with the naming?

Romeo came with his name.  I thought of changing it, but really liked the name…and he is a Romeo.

Minnie, who was my sister’s dog was named by my sister and me because in foster care she was called Minnie Mouse and we decided Minnie was appropriate, but later my sister wished she had spelled her name as Mini.

Missy came with a strange name (that I can no longer recall), didn’t like it and she just seemed like a Missy.

Frankie was a stray cat who took up residence under my front porch and Frankie just popped in my mind, and I took him in.  Because of his urethra surgery, my son now calls him Francine, but he is still Frankie.

C.J. was a COMPLETE surprise, I wanted a cat!!  LOL And if you can believe this, I didn’t know what kind of dog he was and they had to tell me, “You know, like the dog in Men in Black”...Aha!  I was hooked immediately and still am!

Happer was my husband’s dog (yellow lab), so he named him.  It was after his uncle’s nickname in college and no one really knows the true story about how he got it.

Maya was my cat (yellow tabby) and I am a high school English teacher.  I really like Maya Angelou’s work, so hence Maya.  Maya actually came from the humane society with the name Gladys.  I didn’t like it, so I changed it.  Every once in a while, I’d call her that and she’d still look!

Abbey, our dear, crazy, little pug, actually came from my favorite place in the world, Aberdeen, South Dakota.  My grandparents and parents were from there and we spent A LOT of summers, Thanksgivings, and Christmases there.  I have a million happy memories there, and it is just a different pace of life than what I live now.  We had to sell my grandparents’ home after Grandma died and Grandpa couldn’t take care of himself anymore.  We got Abbey the weekend after we moved my Grandpa to Nebraska.  So, Abbey, is short for Aberdeen (which she gets called when she’s in trouble!).

Thanks to all who shared.  This was fun.  I hope others come back to this post and add their stories!
