Busted

Henry

Well, look who I found sitting in the shade! The sun loving pug!

The weather has been so gorgeous that we have had a hard time getting Henry to come in the house. The sun is getting a bit stronger so Henry lays in the sun for a bit, then moves to the shade, then moves back to the sun. Benjamin and Luna are such polar opposites of Henry that we have taken to calling them the house dwellers. They go outside, go potty and then want to go right back in. If the weather is nice enough Benjamin can be persuaded to spend a little time outside, but not Luna. She wants no parts of the great outdoors.

Side Sleeper Extraordinaire

Benjamin

I'm not sure if this is Benny brushing up on his Frenchie impersonation or a trick he is trying out to improve his hearing. What I do know is that Benny can saw some logs stretched out on his side with his head almost dangling off the pillow. This is not his cat nap sleeping position. This is his don't anyone go near the kitchen while I'm asleep and wake me in a few hours sleeping position.

Can You Hear Me Now?

Henry

We have been noticing that Henry's hearing has not been as sharp lately. Even with duller hearing, Henry shines in the hearing department compared to Benjamin and Luna who are practically completely deaf. But, one day last week we noticed that Henry was not being his normal self and we noticed that he couldn't hear anything at all. Later that day he started scratching his ears like crazy and we had a sneaking suspicion that he had an ear infection. So, off to the vet we went and the vet confirmed that Henry did indeed have an ear infection. Henry was prescribed ear drops to tackle the infection and we vowed to be more diligent about cleaning his ears.

The hope is that after Henry's ear infection is cleared up, his hearing will return to normal. Although, I must admit, I'm kinda concerned that it won't since there hasn't been any improvement so far.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day

Sol, Benjamin and Henry

I know today is not our normal flashback day, but I wanted to share this picture of Sol and the boys to celebrate St. Patrick's day. Sol was never one for dressing up, but she sure could rock a bandana.

On a sadder note, March 8th marked the 4th anniversary of Sol's passing to the Rainbow Bridge. In many ways it doesn't seem like that long ago. Of the pugs, I think Luna misses Sol the most. Which is odd because I was worried about how two alpha females would get along, but they got along fantastic. Sol had a calming effect on Luna and helped Luna let go of a lot of her nervous energy. I don't know how Sol did it, but somehow she managed to communicate and let Luna know that all was ok and that she could just relax. In teaching her that great lesson, Sol always taught Luna a few tricks on how to always get her way. I'm thankful for the first gift Solsey, but I could have lived without you sharing your knowledge on how to always get what you want. wink

Flashback Friday

Benjamin and Henry

This picture was taken in October, 2010

When we pass by things like these, I am super glad that the boys are such good posers. Given my odd sense of humor things like this just crack me up.

Fun Fact: This "butts" container happens to be located at the same pavilion on the beach where Sol coaxed two ladies into giving her a hamburger.

Happy Cupid

Cupid

Santa brought Cupid some cat grass for Christmas that I somehow forgot about. When I stumbled upon the cat grass again, I decided to make it for her to enjoy. Cupid has a way of being impatient and not letting the grass fully grow before she plucks it from the soil, so I added the necessary water and put the grass on a table that Cupid could not get to so the grass had time to fully grow.

A few days later, the grass had sprouted and Cupid was meowing her head off wanting me to put the grass in her reach. The grass had grown considerably so I let her have it. She then spent a considerable amount of time licking the grass blades. I'm not really sure what goes through her head, but she's happy so I'm happy.
