Romeo

Romeo

Romeo is a 14 month pug pup who currently is in desperate need of Liver Shunt surgery. The surgery Romeo needs costs $5,000.  Without the surgery the toxins from his liver will start to affect his nueroligical system and will eventually be fatal.

Brenda from Delaware Valley Pug Rescue e-mailed me in hopes that we can get the word out about Romeo and help raise funds to get him the life saving surgery he so desperately needs.

I’m going to be sending over a donation from Owned by Pugs and H. Doodle and if any other readers could send in a donation I know the Delaware Valley Pug rescue, along with little Romeo, would certainly appreciate it.  Whether big or small a donation of any size goes a long way in getting sweet little Romeo back on his feet so that he can live the true life of a pug pup.

If you would like to donate you can do so by sending a check made out to Delaware Valley Pug Rescue and sending it to:

Delaware Valley Pug Rescue
PO Box 861
Avondale , PA 19311.

Thank you pug lovers!

UPDATE: Last night Romeo’s health took a turn for the worse and he was rushed to the emergency vet.  He will be undergoing surgery today.  I will let you know as soon as I have an update.

UPDATE: In case you did not catch Brenda’s comment here is the latest on little Romeo:
Thank you so much for your well wishes and generosity. The other members of the rescue and especially Romeo’s foster parents were very touched by your support. Unfortunately, the surgery is on hold until we can get Romeo’s blood cell count up to a healthy level. Hopefully he’ll get his count up high enough in the next couple of days to get his surgery. Thank you for your well wishes and keep Romeo in your prayers the next couple of days

Thank You!

I just wanted to say, “Thank you” for all the kind comments left on yesterday’s post about Luna’s “Gotcha Day” (I like that term!).  I have read (and re-read them) and I am very thankful to be able to share my thoughts about Luna, Benny & Henry with all the pug lovers out there.

I have been loving all the comments lately because I feel like I am getting to know everyone out there.  So keep them coming because it is great to learn about all you wonderful people owned by pugs.

Also, many said that they have rescued a pug and I would love to hear your Rescue Story.  Just send us an e-mail and we will post it on the site.

Thanks for stopping by and reading about Benjamin, Henry & Luna.  Your comments always make my day!

Have a wonderful day, pug lovers!

A Huge Thanks to our devoted Voters and PetSource.org

I would like to THANK everyone who voted for Benjamin & Henry in the PetSource.org Halloween Costume Contest.  Because of your daily clicks the boys took home first place, earning Compassionate Pug Rescue $1,000.  Last weekend, Compassionate Pug Rescue received their check in the mail!  Hearing that news made my weekend!

So a huge thank you to all of you!  Without your daily clicks none of this would have ever been possible!

From Sissy, With Love

Boston

It was a sad weekend here in the OBP household.  We had our German Shepard cousin, Boston, take his last breath.  He lived near us when we lived in Maryland but it had been a while since we’d last seen him but we remember him fondly.  We would take him for long walks when his own mom needed a pup sitter.  We visited him a few times with the boys, too.  Though he was very protective of his mother, as most Shepards are, he still welcomed us all into his home and allowed the boys to partake in leg-lifting adventures in the back yard and even shared his prized chicken jerky treats.  It was very unfortunate that cousin Luna never had the opportunity to meet cousin Boston.  The two would have been fast friends, as well.  Bozzy, as he was affectionately referred to, was the light of his mama’s life.  He was a loyal and loving companion, a guardian and a best friend.  It is with heavy heart we mourn his passing.

Thank You!

Benjamin & Henry are the winner's of PetSource.com's Halloween Contest

Great news!  On Friday, Benjamin & Henry were named the winners of PetSource’s Halloween Costume Contest!  Which means Compassionate Pug Rescue will receive $1,000!

I can not thank all of the blog readers and pug lovers that voted for us enough.  It means so much that you cast your vote for us!  We are thrilled with the win and without you this would have never been possible.  Thank you!  Thank you!  Thank you!

For the boys & Luna the weekend was one big celebration.  We made a special point to get some pumpkin bread and on Sunday afternoon we went to the beach.  Plenty of photos and a little video of them enjoying their pumpkin bread to follow later in the week.

The Voting Continues

Hello everyone!  Thanks to all that have voted for Benjamin & Henry in the PetSource Halloween Costume Contest.  The boys are currently in the lead, but there is a new “Sheriff” that is catching up quick!  If you have the time please drop by and vote for the boys.  You can vote up to one time a day and I believe the contest runs until Halloween.  After you register the first time, voting is a lot easier.  The quickest way to find the boys is to sort by Most Voted.  Hopefully, we will still be at the top grin The boys are dressed as Batman & Robin

If we win, $1,000 goes to Compassionate Pug Rescue.  We would love to be able to win the money for them.

Thanks so much!
