We've recently experienced some challenges in our doggie care scheduling. For some reason Thursdays are an extremely popular day in this neck of the woods. It is a hard day for Auntie M to cover, Grammy attends a special writers group on Thursdays and we had even recently recruited a Plan C person named Katie to cover when neither Grammy nor M could make the rounds. Katie, a laid back lady, has been one of the ones that has taken good care of the puggers when we had to work. We knew Plan C would not work long term as Katie, a sweet woman, was helping us out as she was between jobs. She did land a job (so, very good for her! hard to do in this economy so I tip my hat to her!) but that leave us back to square one with our Thursday woes. Anyway, we wanted to share some pictures from Katie & Auntie M.
Short but funny story about the one of Cupid that is blurred and obstructed by a pug ear. That is Benjamin getting jealous that Auntie M is taking a picture of Cupid and not paying attention to him. He is BABY BENNY you know! Thus, all eyes and attention must be on him!

In a recent blog, I described how I wheel the dogs out of the bedroom and into the living room so that I can effectively make the bed. Well, on the weekends, this same ottoman gets rolled into the kitchen for at least one of the 3 to sit in while we eat breakfast and read the newspaper. I thought some follow up evidence of this may be in order. So here are Benjamin & Luna puggin' it up on their "chair" at the breakfast table.

(Plus I find it unusual that I am discovering more & more photos where the hole in Luna's ear is getting more noticeable. I wonder if her ears are going bald. Seems like her fur used to cover the hollow spot but not as much anymore. Odd.)

I always feel a little bit bad of including Cupid on the blog since she isn't really "owned by pugs". And boy of boy would she throw a kitty cat hissy fit if I even suggested this.
So, anyway, if you are anti-cat, then hopefully I will still see you tomorrow.....
But since Cupid is a huge part of the family then I sometimes cannot steer away from sharing some her antics. (She was here before the pugs, she often reminds me.)
Anyway, we have been having a bit of a cold snap here in Florida. (It's not really a string of days strung together more like one day here and there plopped in between days in the 70's. Crazy stuff.)
On this day, it was in the upper 40's and windy. I had recently fished Cupid cat condo from the pool from which it had blown the night before. Well, Cupid was itching to outside but it was just a bit too cool for her to venture out into the elements. Instead, Cupid pawed at the blinds in the kitchen so that I would open them so that she could look out the window longing for the warmth to come back.
Ah, silly kitty. (And for Big Bang Theory fans, "Soft kitty, warm kitty. Little ball of fur. Happy kitty, sleepy kitty. Purr. Purr. Purr."

In honor of President's Day today, I wanted to be sure to share how Benjamin is much like the long ago presidents we honor today. (You know the story about how ol' George chopped down his father's cherry tree and then confesses that he did in fact do it. And Abraham Lincoln was nicknamed Honest Abe since he walked miles to return an extra penny or something like that....) Well, baby Benny is honest too. Not in the sense that he doesn't lie but it more like his NOSE doesn't lie. This weekend was turkey cooking weekend and this takes me about an hour to do and I am not exactly the neatest cook in town. But when I was all done, Benjamin swore that there was a piece of turkey that rolled under the stove. He stood puffing and scratching at the stove until I finally believed him and fished out the lone stray nugget of ground turkey that made its way under there. Benjamin gave me, "see, I told you so" face. It's like he was saying, "don't hate the puggy, hate the nose." His nose NEVER does lie. Benny for Prez!

Central Florida Pug Rescue has an awesome raffle going on right now. The raffle is for a pug oil painting painted by Brenda Philips who is a prominent artist in the St. Augustine community and the grand-niece of Claud Monet.
To find out how to enter the raffle, visit the raffle information page on the CFPR website.
If you enter and win, be sure to let all of us at OBP know!

Double door duty is in place today. No one will make it by the house without hearing the "menacing" bark of the pug pack.
They sure do think they are tough. If they only knew the reaction of most people that pass by is, "Aww,look at the pugs!"
