Pug Rescue of Florida and Central Florida Pug Rescue are holding their 5th Annual PugsGiving event on November 18, 2006 from 10am until 3pm in Lakeland, FL. Admission to the event is free and there will be plenty of games, contests and raffles. PugsGiving is a great chance to meet plenty of pugs and other pug lovers and, best of all, all proceeds from the event benefit pug rescue!

If your little one is dressing up for Halloween this year be sure to enter the Owned By Pugs Halloween Costume Contest. Lifetime’s new show Off the Leash which follows 7 canine clients at the Le Paws pet-talent agency in Hollywood features a pug. Boo, the pug, is doing whatever it takes to get a big break. You can watch Boo and the rest of the dogs on Off the Leash on Mondays at 6:30PM on Lifetime.

Southeast Pug Rescue & Adoption (SEPRA) will be holding their annual PugFest on October 28, 2006 in Lawrenceville, Georgia. I personally have never been to the event, but I hear pugs come from far and wide. PugFest has many fun, pug related events and the proceeds from PugFest go to help pay the medical costs of pugs SEPRA has rescued.

I came across this great article detailing the happy go lucky personality of the pug. The opening line of the article states, “Never underestimate the power of the pug. With their funny, full-of-expression faces, pugs have an endearing quality that easily wins fans.” How very true.
