You can file this under Things that Rarely Happen in FL. On Saturday morning we had a nice sleet/snow mix going on outside. Of course it didn't lay because the ground was still pretty warm, but it was still an odd sight to see the wintry weather here in FL.
Of course the pugs had to go out to go potty in the morning and they were quite surprised to hear the sleet and see the white stuff. It was funny to see the snow laying on the back of the pugs. It didn't photograph well on the fawns, but the snow showed pretty clearly on the back of Sol.
The only pug the snow didn't gather on was Luna. She ran out, did her business and then high tailed it right back into the house. That girl is from Miami. She doesn't do wintry weather.
If you're intersted, I have posted other, non pug related, wintry weather shots on Flickr.

This week's flashback: The Beach
I love this picture of Henry acting like a mad pug.
Happy Birthday, G-Ma!

Luna, the queen of comfort. It cracks me up that she likes to lay on the underside of the bed.

For awhile Solsey, the pillow thief, always took my pillow at night even though she had one of her own right next to mine. My pillow clearly states "RIN" on it so I wasn't sure why there was any doubt about which pillow was hers. To straighten things out, I got a pillowcase that said "PUG" so the pugs would never be confused as to which pillow was theirs. However, since I got the pillowcase, Solsey has stopped sleeping on pillows during the night. With her cough she prefers to lay on harder surfaces. She now sleeps at the foot of the bed. However, Ben, Henry & Luna have made good use of the pug pillow.

While out shopping with G-Ma when she & G-Pa were visiting, we found this cute little ballerina shirt on clearance at an outlet store. I immediately thought of Luna and for the bargain price couldn't resist getting it for her.

Last week Luna went in for her eye checkup. It had been almost a year since her last visit and up until about two weeks ago her eyes were doing great. The last two weeks we noticed that her tear production in her right eye was pretty much nonexistent. When she went in for her checkup, the tear test confirmed what we already knew when it registered a zero for tear production in her right eye. On a good note, the tear production in her left eye was outstanding.
That is pretty much how the visit went. All good news for her left eye, all bad news for her right eye. The one good thing, although this isn't really a good thing, is that she has so much scar tissue built up on her right eye, that it being dry does not cause her much discomfort.
Even though she is not in much discomfort, we switched up her drop schedule for her right eye to see if we can get her back to the point of producing tears. We added two new medicines and completely changed up the schedule for her right eye. Her left eye drop schedule remains the same. Needless to say, I had to create a new spreadsheet to keep it all straight.
We go back in a month to see if the new drops are doing any good.
Luna took it all in stride. I think her biggest gripe is that she got stuck with the cat room again. As you can see, all the pictures in her exam room were of cats. She much prefers the dog room
