Vote for Benjamin & Henry for a Good Cause

Contest Entry

I just entered a picture of Benjamin & Henry into PetSource.com’s Halloween Costume Contest.  The entry that gets the most votes gets a $1,000 donation to the animal charity of their choice.  We would love to win and send $1,000 to Compassionate Pug Rescue.  They nursed little Luna back to health and they have have recently helped so many pugs that were in need of costly medical attention.  So if you can, please drop by and cast a vote for Benjamin & Henry in Luna’s honor!  You can vote one time per day.

For some reason, I can’t link directly to our entry. But right now it is on the front page if you sort by newest.

Bloopers #3

Luna with fuzz on her head

With a brother that must scratch on the pillow before he can settle, there is always little pieces of pillow fuzz everywhere.  Sometimes they just end up in the oddest places!

Lazy Mornings

Pugs on the bench

We got this bench for the backyard about a year ago, so that we would have a nice place to sit while the pugs played in the yard.  Like most things, the pugs thought the bench was for them.  At least one of them is lounging on it most mornings and when we are all out in the yard that is one crowded bench!

Halloween Fun

Benjamin, Henry & Luna with the scarecrow

This weekend we finally got around to getting out the Halloween decorations and building our annual scarecrow.  Last year, we built an Oriole fan that Henry took quite a liking to.  This year we built a Redskin fan, shortly after we watched their pathetic loss to the Packers on Sunday.  I think the only thing missing is a little tear in his eye.

We also had a little bit of fun and dressed up our Buddha statue.  Buddha stands guard at our front door and his official job is to welcome guests.  We dress him up every Halloween.  Last year he was a pirate, but I think this year’s costume is much better.

Benny leaning up against the wall

So this is Benny’s latest thing, leaning up against the wall while basking in the sun.  He used to sit on the runner near the door, but he decided that sitting up all on his own was just too much work.  So he had to find a better place to rest.  After some debate he settled on a spot in the dining room.  He can still bask in the sun and he can prop himself up using the small wall that separates the dining room from the foyer.  That Benny - he’s always thinking!

Is your pug a picky eater?

Darci and Abbey the pug wrote in wondering about the eating habits of other pugs.  It seems Abbey will eat just about anything and Darci was wondering if all pugs were that way.

Well, I can certainly say that Henry will eat ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING!  I have yet to come across anything that he will turn down.

Benjamin, has turned down a few things, but for the most part he eats everything as well.  He won’t eat lettuce or cucumbers and he isn’t real fond of spinach.  However, if it is high in carbs he will devour it (pumpkin bread!).

Luna, on the other hand, has quite a discerning palette.  Just the other day she turned down a graham cracker and I must add this tickled the boys pink.  She doesn’t particularly care for Cheez-Its either and she never eats her broccoli.

What about you?  Does your pug eat everything?  Or does he turn some food items down?  Tell us about in the comments and vote in the poll.
