I think it doesn't matter how good of a weekend you had or how much sleep you got on Sunday night or what you have to look forward to in the upcoming week, Monday mornings tend to make everyone a little grumpy.

It is rare to ever find this arm of the couch pugless. The boys love to sit in this spot because they have a clear view out the front door. Even, Luna has been sitting there lately.
Usually, the pugs take turns sitting there. But, lately, the boys have been sharing the spot. So, to anyone that might pass by the house, beware, we have two pugs on guard duty now.

You can always count on Benny to make himself as comfortable as possible. Although, his butt might be a little sore after the whooping the Steelers gave the Ravens this weekend. Congrats, Steelers fans. There is always next year, I guess.

I made a quick trip up to see G-Ma over the holidays and as soon as I got home Benjamin wanted to know what G-Ma had put in my suitcase. And G-Ma did not disappoint. In the front pouch, right where Benny is sniffing, G-Ma stuck a few ginger snap cookies that Benjamin went crazy over last Christmas.
Last year, G-Ma got a tin of gingersnaps and both Benny and G-Ma loved them. So, Santa thought it would be a good idea to bring more this year. I think it is safe to say both Benny and G-Ma were quite pleased with Santa.

It must be hard work holding all those wrinkles up, because Benjamin is forever resting his chin on something.
Last Sunday, when we were reading the Sunday paper, Luna was all curled up on the chair when Benny suddenly hopped up on her chair and wedged himself between her and the chair. He then promptly used her as a chin rest. Neither Luna nor Henry seem to mind when Benny butts in. They are a good bro and sis that way. And I never mind because all of Benjamin's butting in makes for good photos.

It is an unspoken rule that the puff pillow belongs to Luna. So, I was quite surprised the other day when I saw that Ben had wiggled his way into the puff pillow bed with Luna. I guess Luna didn't mind so much because of the recent cold weather. With the recent cold snap everyone, even Luna, can use a little more pug body heat.

Last weekend, we dug the electric blanket out of the closet and put it on the bed. I know, I know. We live in Florida. What on Earth would we need an electric blanket for? Before, I lived here, I used to feel the same way. I laughed at the Floridians with their fireplaces and boots and gloves and thought they were all crazy. Then I lived here for a few years, and now I really regret not getting a fireplace in the house.
I have learned that cold is relative. Plus, I was talking to a neighbor who spends a lot of time in Colorado and she said that 30° in Florida feels colder than 30° in Colorado. It has something about the amount of moisture in the air. I'm not exactly sure on all the details. What I took away from the conversation was that I was totally justified in buying the electric blanket.
In any case, we put the electric blanket on the bed last weekend and the pugs love it. They are in toasty, pug heaven.
However, the recent cold snap does have me very concerned about Benny. He has been very stiff and slow going the last few days. Right now, I am chalking it up to the cold weather taking its toll on Benny's aging bones and joints, but nonetheless it has me very concerned.
While I am working, I have been keeping him in a sweater to help him stay warm. He seems warmer, but it doesn't seem to be helping his stiffness.
Yesterday, I had an idea and I thought I would create a mini electric blank for the pugs to use during the day while they are on the couch. So, I dug out the heating pad, put it on low, stuck it under a double folded blanket and within seconds there was a pile of pugs on the heating pad. The heating pad isn't meant to stay on all day, so I have been turning it off and on throughout the day hoping to keep the pugs feeling good.
Hopefully, the cold will pass and Benny will get back to his usual spry self.
