The Boys of Summer

The boys of summer like to hang out in the shade! It has even been too hot for Henry and Henry absolutely loves the sun.

I feel bad for the pugs because our walks have been so short. One quick jaunt early in the morning and then one short walk in the evening. And sometimes our evening walks get rained out. But, I don't think the pugs mind too much because as soon as they step paw outside the door their urge to walk quickly fades.

Dummies

Grammy saw this book at a book store that was closing and got us a copy as a gift.

I love to read books about pugs. Especially books that tell you about the breed and what you should expect as a pug owner. I like to compare the book's advice to my own experiences as being a pug owner.

I came across the tidbit below in the book and it really made me laugh. It is one of those things that is so funny because there is a lot of truth in it.

"Never walk a pug farther than you are willing to carry her. Sometimes she may just sit down on an outing and refuse to go anywhere."

Housewarming

Meet Jake! Jake is a friend of Benjamin, Henry & Luna. Jake and the pugs like baseball and have hung out together at a Bark at the Park event.

Jake and his family recently bought a new house. After hearing the news, the pugs knew just what to bring Jake - a dog bed. After all you can never have too many dog beds!

2012 Owned by Pugs Calendar Contest

It's hard to think about 2012 when I just really got used to writing 2011, but it is time to kick off the 2012 Owned by Pugs Calendar Contest!

Here is a quick overview on how the contest works. Click here to view complete contest guidelines.

• Pug lovers can submit their pictures for consideration into the calendar from August 15, 2011 - September 9, 2011. Please review the rules/terms and conditions before submitting your photos.
• There is no limit to the number of pictures one person can submit. But, please do not take advantage of this rule and submit your whole pug photo collection. Pick your favorites.
• Calendars will be available for sale in late October / early November for $20. $5 from each calendar sale will be donated to one of the partner pug rescue organizations of your choosing.

On a side note, this in all likelihood will be the last year that I will be holding the Owned by Pugs Calendar Contest. While it is a ton of fun, it is also a lot of work and unfortunately I don't have as much time to devote to the calendar as I once did. Swim Camp 2011 - Luna

Here is little Luna's Swim Camp clip. She is by far the best swimmer out of the 3 pugs, but she is very nervous in the water. No under water clips of her swimming. If you go under water to get video of her swimming she doesn't know where to swim to!

Benjamin and Luna are very happy that their obligatory, yearly dip in the pool is complete. Now they don't have to worry about having to get in the pool until next year. I'm sure that makes Henry happy because that means more pool time for him.
