Since the water was warm, Henry was having fun running in and out of the ocean. He would run into the water about chest deep, splash around a bit and hop back to shore at full steam.
Since it was a nice day out there were lots of boats passing. Of course the boats left a wake. Henry being Henry plows right through the waves washing ashore. I was lucky enough to manage to get a picture of Henry jumping through one of the tiny waves. Tiny to us, but pretty big to a pug I would imagine.

While at the beach, this is pretty much where you can always find Luna. Just a few inches short of where the waves wash on shore.
Occasionally a wave will catch her or she will take a quick run into the water to cool off a bit, but for the most part she avoids the water. She reminds of a sanderling. Those little birds that always run along the shoreline poking at the water for little bits to eat. They go in and out with the waves at full speed and they always manage to avoid getting wet. That is pretty much how Luna plays at the beach.

Good news! Our beach problem was solved! Despite, Saturday being a pretty hot day, things cooled off in the evening and we made a mad dash to the beach.
It was quite breezy out, but that only helped cool the pugs even more. Plus, the water temp must have been around 69° or 70° so the pugs had fun splashing around in the ocean. Heck, even I went in up to my knees.
I took a ton of pictures, so I think this week's theme is going to be scenes from the beach. For those still battling cold weather or heaven forbid snow, if you can't escape to a warm sandy destination we'll bring the warm weather and beach to you.

As odd as this may sound, considering that is only April, I'm hoping that we are able to squeeze in one more beach day with the pugs this spring. We tried to take the pugs to the beach last weekend, but it was just too hot. I'm sure we can sneak in an evening trip to the beach, but I would like to be able to get in one more day of fun where we don't have to worry about the puggers overheating. We'll have to wait and see if mother nature cooperates.
I tell ya, if you have to have problems, these are the types of problems to have.

People in the neighborhood always laugh at the little fire hydrant statue we have in the yard. We found it at a concrete art type place and when we bought it it was a plain cement color. Having three dogs, we thought it would be cool, to paint it a fun color and use it as a yard decoration. It would be even neater if the pugs actually started using it like they do all the other fire hydrants in the neighborhood. But, wouldn't you know they never use it! They pee on pretty much everything else in the yard, but their own personal, pug sized fire hydrant? Nope, never once have they peed on that.

This position certainly does not look comfortable, but the boys sit like this all the time.

I have never seen Luna sit like this. I think it is because she is too little. Her little neck isn't long enough to reach the arm of the chair.
