The box of goodies sent by Huckle, Abby & Gracie had so much good stuff that I don't event know what to show you first. But, this shirt really did make me LOL.
I'm not sure if there could be a more appropriate shirt for us considering that Cupid, our cat, really does think that she owns the pugs. Silly cat!

Late last week a very big package came in the mail for Luna. The box was about as big as Luna and I couldn't imagine what it was. I peeked at the return address and immediately recognized the name. At that point I knew that Luna was in for a very big surprise from Huckle.
Abby and Gracie, with the help of their Mom, sent Luna a whole wardrobe! There were t-shirts, rain coats and all kinds of fashionable stuff. Looney couldn't believe her eyes. In the blink of an eye she pretty much doubled her closet!

Lucky for us Irene stayed off the coast and her effects on our weather were pretty minimal. Unfortunately, Irene travelled right up the east coast. We kept a close watch on the storm this weekend to see how Irene would effect G-Ma and G-Pa in Maryland. G-Ma & G-Pa have had quite a week. They had an earthquake and a hurricane! Geez!
I hope everyone in the path of Irene is doing OK. Our thoughts are with you all.

Henry was on ear cleaning duty again this weekend. It is very helpful that Henry is on top of ear cleaning. In addition to ears, Henry also like to clean eyes. He does a good job at that as well, except sometimes he almost licks the eye drops right out of Luna's eyes. He is on top of his grooming job a little bit too much some days.

Meet backup puffy. Backup puffy is exactly the same as puffy except it is a different color. It is also technically Henry's, but Benjamin commandeered it almost a decade ago.
Puffy and backup puffy were one of the first toys that G-Ma gave to the boys back when we still measured the boys' age in weeks. Benjamin immediately developed a strange bond with the puffy that G-Ma gave him and pretty soon it became part of Benny's routine. In addition to hanging out with puffy throughout the day, Benny always finds puffy after he eats and he always seeks out puffy when he goes to bed.
Knowing how fond Benny was of puffy we also kept a close eye on backup puffy. To Henry it was just another toy, so we made sure backup puffy never got lost in the mix. We also tried to substitute backup puffy for regular puffy on the rare occasions when the whereabouts of puffy were unknown. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't.
Even today backup puffy is a tough sell for Benjamin and whenever I see him carrying around backup puffy a little feeling of panic comes over me. "Oh, no! Where is puffy?!?" I think. Because there have been more than a few times that we have been searching the house high and low for puffy at bedtime. My favorite is when we could not find puffy anywhere in the house so we had to move the search to the backyard. There we were with flashlights searching the backyard for puffy with Benjamin standing watch. We eventually found puffy just hanging out in the backyard.

Remember Simba? Well, not only does Simba visit us on walks he also makes house calls. Every so often when we are hanging out outside, Simba comes strutting over.
Benjamin is fascinated by Simba. He is still shocked that there is a cat in this world that likes him. Henry and Luna have gotten used to Simba and pretty much ignore him when he comes to visit.
And Cupid? Cupid is definitely not happy when Simba comes calling. She stares him down and gives him her best Calico attitude. Although, even though she would never admit it, she doesn't get nearly as worked up as she used to. I think even she is getting used to having Simba around.
