Or Mr. Outdoors. Henry loves being outside, rolling in the grass, smelling the flowers and soaking up the sun.
The good news for him is that Fall is on the way, which in FL translates to way friendlier pug weather. Come on Fall!

Good news for the pugs - Pumpkin bread is back at Bob Evans! We brought home a special loaf to share with the pugs and they were so excited I couldn't torment them by making them pose for pictures. Let's just say it went a little like this.
But, I think the surprise of the day was when Cupid showed interest in the pumpkin bread. She didn't actually eat any, but she did spend a good 5 minutes licking the crust. It's official. She has been hanging around the pugs way too much!

I recently found out that today is National Pet Memorial Day. So, I thought I would post a picture of Solsey today and give an update on the Sol Sunshine Memorial Fund. As of this writing, $2,298.90 has been raised to help support the senior pugs of Central Florida Pug Rescue.
I think that is awesome! To me, Solsey was the perfect example of how to live your golden years to the fullest. I hope her fund helps the senior pugs of CFPR do the same.
None of this could be possible without all the loyal Solsey supporters and the good folks at CFPR. Thank you all for letting Solsey's memory live on in such a positive way!
Also, on a different note, I have extended the deadline for submissions to the 2012 Calendar Contest to September 17, 2011. I'm looking forward to your submissions.

Benjamin has an odd fascination with the pool skimmer. Whenever I take off the cover to clear out the skimmer, Benjamin always comes over and peers inside like it is some special rabbit hole and there is some magical wonderland hidden below.

The dog park has a nifty water fountain for the dogs that has bowls on two different levels. One on the ground and one about knee level for larger dogs. It is a great idea, the only problem is that only Henry is brave enough to drink from the fountain. Benjamin and Luna don't seem to trust a water bowl with a small stream of water shooting up from the middle. In fact they wouldn't go anywhere near they fountain lest they get wet!

One day last week we spiced things up a bit and instead of going for our normal walk after dinner we took a quick trip to the dog park. The moment we arrived at the dog park all of the other dogs left. Geez. I don't know if we should be offended or not.
So the pugs had the whole park to themselves. Henry amused himself for a moment by darting through the tunnel, but other than that the pugs spent the majority of their time sniffing around.

A few minutes before we were ready to leave, a small white dog arrived at the park. The dog was 11 years old and after the customary dog park greeting, the pugs and the white dog all went off smelling around in different directions. One 11 year old dog, two 9 year old pugs and a 7 year old pug don't make for the most active dog park crowd. The most active thing that night was the mosquitoes!
